I suppose everyone has their own relationship with hunting, and I respect that. I can't help being fascinated by people passing over animals, though. Growing up, if there was any tag left in camp, I'd have been whooped for not shooting any legal animal I saw. I'm still pretty much a pot hunter. Watching you pass on animals stresses me out. I love the show, though, and you always get me excited for upcoming seasons. Thanks for the content.

yeah right who are you fooling that's not the reason you do it ...looking for that trophy buck it's not primary about the meat you're tougher than I am you have to doctor the meat a lot... my opinion when it comes right down to it it's not good at all I can barely stand the taste of the backstrap seasoned or doctored up... and that sucks because I do like to hunt and a little but I will not take one down and leave it I even tried to give the meat to other people that have eaten deer quite a bit they say the same thing the antelope is basically not too good no matter how you Doctor it. we see antelope every other day we own three sections in Curry County New Mexico right on the state line seems like the last for 5 years there's been abundance of them been watching them they are territorial they will stay right by the water within a couple of miles which is going to be large water tanks for cattle I believe it was last year we actually seen a group of them we counted up to 45 to 50 in that group but all the local neighbors and Ranchers made it clear to the group they are not welcome to stay LOL they were chasing him with four-wheelers pickups honking horns had propane cannons setup ups going off every hour they were pretty much sticking around with the cattle hell even have one Rancher tell a story he had a group of five or six of them coming around the feed truck when he was feeding cattle anyway the problem with the antelope is not how much they eat.. they do consume different vegetation and at the right they do spread unwanted seeds on Farm ground which does cost money to spray herbicide and keep the land for farming productive.. and they will also tear or damaged a hot wire fence.. and there's always that problem you're always seeing unfamiliar vehicles up and down the county roads and we're not stupid we know what they're doing we have found several antelope left lay out there in our property a hundred yards from a County Road.. and that's a problem there's nearby cattle too close for comfort now you got that coyote problem coming around for the carcass and in March April is not very comfortable with small calves running around everywhere and we have seen 3 or 4 coyotes together several times and when they work together those calves do not have a chance when they want to take one down.. anyway I went too deep into it LOL keep up what you doing and enjoy it would like to see more people especially young people doing what you doing

Antelope is my favorite of all wild game. I shoot a lot of doe antelope and small bucks when it means I can fill my freezer with antelope.

I just can't get accustomed to it. a deer tenderloin or backstrap doctored up with some sausage and ground up in season and made into a chili now that's pretty good eating on a cold day.. have you ever tried 2 barbecue antelope like what they do down south Texas with goats I tried some of that one time and it's not too bad I would think a goat and Antelope would be somewhat similar being the antelope would have a game taste because they have to work for a living unlike a domestic goat

I live in nm and would like to put in for antelope next season only problem is the only place I ever see them out here is on private land, any ideas of where to find them on public?

If you apply and draw, you will be assigned an area where you can hunt both private and public. That is unique in New Mexico's antelope system.
