Mr. Newberg, you are a true sportsman and an inspiration. What a brutal hunt! I absolutely love that you do real, DIY hunts on public land. Thank you for sharing these videos with us.

When you see Randy shiver, you know....it's cold. Well done Randy. Way to suck it up. Incredible.

Randy you put up with more severe hunting conditions and still keep a smile on your face than most people, you just plain love hunting.

I've got a lot to be grateful for, so I end up smiling a lot, no matter the conditions. Thanks for watching.

Mr. Newberg, I'm a member of your forum and have been tossing the idea around of going to SD or ND during my winter break (late December) for mulies or CO in August for Antelope both archery. Re-watching this I think I'm leaning towards the warmth! I just wanted to say how eye opening and insightful yourself and the forum has been. I look forward to watching your future hunts.

Thanks for registering and thanks for watching. I would suggest the warmer period. Good luck.

Randy --- as a North Dakota native I have a tip for you --- don't bother w the camelbak! They freeze in 10 minutes!!!

I remember that cold. Born and raised in South Dakota. I had many freezing cold hunts. Just moved to Arizona a year and a half ago. Looking forward to my first hunt here.

Awesome video! I have bow hunted the badlands twice and struck out each time. Its a hard hunt! Ill be back next year though. Something about that place keeps me wanting to come back. The sunsets and sunrises on those North Dakota bluffs is a scene that is hard to put into words.

Thanks. As you saw, we hit a bad weather stretch. I long to go back someday.

My first buck I ever took was in ND with a bow. I got frost bite in my right hand because of that deer. It was 15 below that evening. I know your pain! It adds to the trophy in my opinion!

As a Canadian much respect for holding that long for a shot. When your not moving in those Temps it gets extremely cold extremely quick... No matter how much gear you got on. And that wind, that's the killer. Cold just watching that.

That was my most brutal stalk ever. And I hope I never have another even close to that.

This looks miserable as heck! But also fun. The best memories are made from the most difficult experiences.

Brutal hunt, and congrats on your success! I bow hunted in four degree weather in the breezy NM desert this year, all I can say is.. Thank God for adrenaline, that's all that kept me moving!

I don't care to replicate that hunt anytime soon. Thanks for watching.

It is a wonderful place. Now, if they would just turn up the temps a bit when I come in December. Thanks for watching.

Hey Randy, Come back to North Dakota in October or November when it's not quite as cold and I'll take you out pheasant and deer hunting.
@Fresh_Tracks7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the invite. Unfortunately, we're always on the road for elk and deer in western states during those months.

Randy Newberg, Hunter- What western states have the late seasons open to non-residents on public lands? As a college student I have the whole month of December to work with, and would love to have a hunt while I have the time.
@Fresh_Tracks7 жыл бұрын
Not many. AZ has archery deer tags at that time. The rest of the western states are pretty much closed in December.
