I was about to ask why hippos weren't a part of "The Big 5" as they have more bodies, but then I remembered Google's a thing a looked it up for myself. It was based off of difficulty to hunt on foot.

In South Africa, the law determines that the minimum required caliber for hunting dangerous game is .375 in all areas. 8.6(.338) is thus illegal to hunt a cape buffalo.

Not quite - most provinces in SA, it is up to the PH. However, most PHs dont even allow .300 win mag and .338 win mag and I totally am with them on that. Actually a little weird, because I'll take a .243 for Eland, but generally an Eland isn't going to become dangerous if wounded.

Most likely donated most South African hunting lodges donate their meat to children's homes and organizations that help with food

@@stacksfarmstead Feral hogs can have up to 30 piglets per year. Cape Buffalo have 1 calf per year. Theres no way they would get out of hand. But I appreciate your point. Im in Texas, and the hogs are legitimately out of control and destroying the ecosystem
