For hunting deer with 300BO. Average shots 50-80 yards, maybe a rare shot out to 120-130. Would you use suppers or subs? & What bullet for either or each?? Whats the shortest barrel you would use? I'm wanting to put together a 300bo upper because I recently got a 9mm PCC can I can also use on 300bo. I've been hunting with a 308 & it works great! Be nice to have another smaller, & less loud option... Always good to have options. My buddy has shot all his deer with a 10.5" 300bo upper this year & everything he shot with suppers dropped as expected. The 3 he shot with subs all ran off & were never found! He said he was using a good bullet, I'm not sure what? I do know he has a 1-8 twist so I assume the twist rate & barrel is why he didn't have success with the subs? I do know they were all shot well inside 100 yards.

Why do you say 338 ARC requires a full taper magazine but then immediately say the only good magazine is the G straight magazines? Hmm...
