Wallingford, Iowa here! Crazy to see where some of our bands end up!! The Smack Em' Outdoors guys shot a goose band in North Dakota from Everly, Iowa about 15 miles from Wallingford. Pretty awesome though!

It's always interesting to hear certain areas/states don't see certain species of banded birds. Here in Missouri, banded Wood Ducks are very common. Lots of Wood Duck Banding projects here. It's almost not exciting to kill a banded Wood Duck lol Glad you got to experience something rare there though! Interesting migration pattern to be banded in Iowa and shot in Kansas though.

Hell bobby a couple years back my son and I were pheasant hunting and I saw this mound of white feathers he I'm going to go look at it and heck here was a band he says dad come here sure enough so we called it in and it took three weeks to get information back due to that it was a black front heron banded 13 years with in a five mile radius from where is passed away not shot but there was high voltage lines we think it ran into. Good job guys.

I totally understand where you are coming from. It’s hard to make those choices sometimes. $60 a year makes a difference to some people who are just starting out. There are ways to get around the total yearly experience, like subscribing for a month or two then canceling your subscription. Of course you won’t get the most recent updates or video but you can watch the saved videos/podcasts. Bobby does put a lot of work into what he does and the bills still need to get paid.
