@@HuntShootLiveDo you use a hand pump still or did you drop the cash to get a compressor? Some people really fuss about using a hand pump for PCPs and I read that the Arrow is severely under powered for hunting. 1. Is using a hand pump really that much hassle on the Arrow? 2. Is the Arrow only really good for backyard plinking? I’m torn between the Gamo Arrow PCP and the Gamo magnum pro gen3i. There seems to be hardcore fans on both sides. Apologies for a long post 😂

@@CodyHall_Music I am still using the hand pump. Not a problem in my opinion. I have still only plunked with it but plan to squirrel hunt with it in September. I feel confident it will do just fine. I’m hitting my 8in steel targets with it at 80 yards and it hits louder than my .177 swarm magnum at that range. Honestly I’m not a fan of pellet rifles for any hunting other than squirrel. I’m sure they would be fine for rabbit as well. So those two critters are soft and small enough that the arrow is more than enough. Overall, I prefer the arrow over the swarm magnum. More enjoyable to shoot, just as accurate, no recoil and WAY less loud.

@@HuntShootLive thank you so much for your reply and all the hard work you put in to doing review videos, I know it’s a ton of work! Mostly I am needing an accurate (inside 45 yards) and super quiet air rifle for pest control. I have a good .22LR but it’s way too loud and just easier to buy a .22 cal pellet rifle than to go through all the legal hoops and the wait times of getting a firearm suppressor. So you have helped me to make up my mind on the Gamo Arrow, hopefully mine won’t have problems keeping air like some people experience. Have had my Gen 3 .22 cal for a couple of weeks and 150 pellets fired. Installed GAMO 3x9 shipped with the rifle. Initial accuracy was good using Crosman Premier domed 14.3 gr. pellets. After about 125 pellets, shots began vertically stringing 6 to 8 inches above the aim point at 25 yards. Suspected scope problems and installed a Beeman air rifle scope from a R10 break barrel I've used for years. Same vertical stringing of shots and after 20 shots this rifle dislodged the adjustable objective lens, which now rattles around in the scope. After seeing your video on Leupold warranty covering break barrel use, I installed a Vari-X 44mm Leupold scope from one of my hunting rifles. Vertical stringing of shots continued using this high quality scope. Have sent an email to GAMO support describing this and asking for their thoughts/suggestions. I'm an experienced centerfire benchrest competitor, and have worked with many rifle and scope combinations, so don't think these issues relate to my scope installation or shooting technique off the bench. Curious to see if you good initial accuracy continues. Sure hope so.

What's the difference between gen2 and gen 3? I have Slavia 630, my father bought it as a teen. and I've firing her since I was 7, I was a comedy when I break the barrel for a reload 😂 And I'm used to regular metal sight,open sight, I've used that rifle until I lost interest after puberty I think 😂, we had tradition for the day before or after Christmas to shot sparrows and pigeons for lunch as snacks.but we usually used to shot into targets, bottle caps,matchsticks, pennies,even pellets with that sight.now after 15 & so years I started to shot again with air guns so I bought Gamo Replay Magnum gen2 couple years ago,with the standard scope 3-9x40,and yeah scope is a scope,I should've bought better one.F-it,but I feel like a surgeon compared to the metal sight...we don't have much choice here from where I'm from (Macedonia) I mean we have a lot but the prices doesn't go well with our wages.I want to take the scope off to try the open sight ,the Slavia 630 now is good only for idk 20 meters,maybe not even that much, normally she wasn't,and she's not even close to the Gamo in power,doesn't matter I refurbished,but it is what it is, that's her performance. but I've had a lot of practice with that one,and the pellets were usually bad quality but cheapthere were better but not affordable at the rate of firing I did,plus we had a shop we sold them the cheap ones,God's know how many lead I've have shot through that rifle,there's probably lead poison on the meadows where we shot usually.I don't have much experience with scopes,if I remove it now I don't have equipment,I would have to go the shop where I bought the rifle to mount and realign the scope again? It would not be precise if I just mount it again like it was,right? I want to try different pellets so far I've used Gamo pro-match, g.lethal, match,and few pellets from a German that I don't remember the name,just to see their performance.But so far the best are Gamo lethal, those are killers...

@Mi Te dupev The difference is minimal between the Swarm Mag gen 2 and 3. I looked up the stats on what you have and it seems as though it is very similar to the swarm magnum just marketed to countries other than North America. If it is capable of taking small game out to 30-40 yards then, the one you have is probably just as good as the new Gen 3 Swarm Mag. As for changing the scope, that should be simple. The top adjustment is for up and down and the side is for left and right. If you have some Allen wrenches and screws drivers you should be okay. But, seems like the gun you’re using now is just fine. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Let me know if you have more questions. I’ll help how I can.

Hunt Shoot Live. Follow up on my comment from yesterday. Based on today's results, I believe the original GAMO magazine may have been the problem. This afternoon I received my order from Pyramid Air containing H&N Barracuda Extreme Hunter (18.52 gr) and Diabolo (15.89 gr) pellets and an extra GAMO magazine. Both new pellets grouped well using the new magazine, with no vertical stringing of shots. The Crosman Premier Dome (14.3 gr) shot from the new magazine grouped nicely at 5/8 inch, 5 shots at 25 yards - no vertical stringing of impacts. Only variable from prior days of horrible groups with the Crosman Premier pellets was use of the NEW magazine. From the outset, inserting pellets into the original mag required using a tool to seat the pellets. With new mag, all 3 types of pellets can be inserted in the mag with only light finger pressure. Hard to believe the autoloading mag could have that dramatic effect on accuracy, but it sure looks like it. More testing tomorrow to confirm.

I don’t know how to adjust the scope . I’m new to this
@HuntShootLive6 ай бұрын
@Danielfloresmma The movement range should be specified on the scope box or when you screw off the scope cap. Probably something like 1 click equals 1/4 inch at 100 yards. If that is the case then 1 click is equal to 1/16th of an inch at 25 yards. Set up a target attached to a big box and shoot it. The scope will tell you what is an up adjustment and what is a down. Also, the right left is the side knob and the top adjustment knob is for up and down. So if you shoot and it is 6 inches low and 6 inches right of where you aimed at 25 yards then you would need to come up 96 clicks and left 96 clicks.

@CRAY-Z I would have zero interest hunting anything larger than a squirrel or rabbit with a break barrel pellet rifle. “Can” they, if legal in your state, take larger animals… yes, with proper shot placement. Are they the best option… absolutely not. As for the big bore pcp and crossbow comparison… it’s just another passion to pursue. One is probably no better than the other necessarily but we engage in different things because they are fun and interests change. If we are really worried about what is absolutely most effective then I would encourage using nothing less than a 7mm rem mag and keep shots within 200 yards. However, what’s most effective is not what we are after when we get into new things. For me personally, the pellet rifle is a way to make squirrel hunting more fun again. A shotgun does it way better but I’ve done it 1000 times with a shotgun. As for accurate hunting range with my break barrel, for me personally I’m gonna limit that to no more than 30 yards. Close to a .22 long rifle. The .22 lr has more energy than either break barrel option, .177 or .22, though. The break barrel is just something else to spend time on and a new experience to enjoy.
