hey guys so here is the first of many w203 video to come.... hope this video helps yo to replace this common issue with the w203,, just use a coat hanger and bend the tip to make a hook so u can remove the icluster...as for the clip for the wiring harness be careful not to break it like i did ..enjoy the video

I have 2 rows of leds that have failed im assuming i have to solder the connections before replacing screen.why didnt you mention this in your vid this is also half the problem.cheers mate.

Hi, I followed the steps in the video to change the LCD screen, I didn’t have any issues at all but when I plugged it back in the LCD and the instrument lights do not come on. Any thoughts? Robert

u must have not plugged it in properly or did u bend the plug too much ?? they are very sensitive apart from that it was pretty straight forward do u have your old one still plug that back int and see if u get a signal possible the new one is defective?

lm getting ready to do this .I have heard that some are not as good as others .Most are Chinese for about $75 online .Do you recommend a certain brand or anything?They all look the same bit I have read where some people have said the cheap Chinese ones are not very bright. l see you got a blue one ,l have seen that one on Amazon. The VDO brand is the oem one that the factory uses

yes cheap Chinese isn't always as good as vdo oem.. but the choice is yours.. if u can afford vdo or can get a really good used ..then maybe do so.. but must be very fair price..or else no point .. I settled for Chinese to fix the issue asap and get it going again ..also Chinese can fade and not be same brightness throughout .. it all depends on your circumstance... are u on a budget? can u afford oem.. can u find used at a good price ... as stated I went with cheaper Chinese to test it and show how its fixed... personal preference ... good luck with your fix mate ..not too hard

I just did this upgrade, PROBLEM, plugged the harness in and all is GREAT, until I pushed the cluster back in and the LCD went blank. Swapped the old one back in, nothing. Mechanic swapped another cluster in and it worked. Sent my cluster out to the supplier of the LCD and they said that LCD and my original both worked in there test so it is my Dash Cluster that has the problem. All lights and Dails work. Any thoughts?

Nope ,you might be able to get a dealer to reprogram it for you but I'm not sure .They would charge you a pile of money to do that probably

what would happen if i carelessly left the gauges (Speedo, temp, fuel) turned up and already fixed everything back? Would it show an inaccurate reading? or would it zero-rise itself when i start the car? Thanks!

u have to program it to sync ..must be coded .. u cant just change cluster ... or update... u need to virginise and sync

If it's any consolation they will try to rip men off too if they can.I would say at least 8 times out of 10.If you ever find a shop you think you can trust ,keep them because it's just very rare ,they will all try to take advantage of you ,some a little and some alot if they think you won't call them on anything.lts just the way it is.If you can do it yourself that's the best way .although I have made some costly mistakes doing things .That's why these videos are so helpful

it should have an srs error... if u have that u just have to have it cleared ... is it srs airbag error? what does it say exactly

I believe it requires turning the steering back and forth (5x)
