I love this!! Harvey Roehl had one very similar to this, but his wonderful collection was dispersed throughout the world after he passed on. Would love to have this in my living room! And love the song!! Thank you for sharing!

Is the piano a Hupfeld or just the player action? I have a Ronisch piano with a Hupfled player action from the 1920’s.

Why dosent the keyboard move like a player piano?

In Europe, this was common as a superstition arose that if you left the keyboard to move on its own, a ghost or spirit would be invited to play the piano and may then reside in the place that housed it.

It was considered by some makers that having the keys move when the action was pneumatically played just added weight & unnecessary wear.Most home players have a keyboard lock option, though most users don't engage it.
