Tobias' voice has definitely changed a lot throughout the albums, both because he purposefully changed the timbre to play different characters and because of training. As you progress through the albums you'll hear a lot of improvements!

And, as a bass player, I have to confirm that A LOT of GHost songs have very prominent bass parts, some of them, like this one, even being written around the bass

Opus Eponymous is a cheeky title, because it sounds so ominous given the themes of the band but it's just Latin for "Self titled work" lol

So glad you started this new journey with Ghost! From "Opus Eponymous", my favorite songs are "Elizabeth" and "Ritual".

One thing I like about Ghost, their song structure isn't very formulaic. There usually isn't a guitar solo for the sake of having a guitar solo section. It is usually written with fitting the song in mind. Like in Mary on a Cross for instance there's this cool little guitar solo/fill that just fits the song so well. Their best album for me is Meliora but all this before it is worth listening as well. Their sound evolves a lot from album to album.

Deus Culpa is actually a famous swedish christmas carol played backwards.

'Opus eponymous' is Ghost's debut album - it's latin for "the eponymous work" ... 'Deus culpa' means "God fault" and "Con clavi con dio" means "With nails with God"

This is from 2010. Not their/his best album by any means but early Ghost is cool. Tobias does have a special voice. You'll have to check out some live performances as well. Especially around 2015-16. Next song, RItual, is very good!

Such a great live song (Con Clavi)! Ghost are an amazing live band, and especially during the early years. Showmanship during this song live is off the charts! You should check out a live version from this circa 2012-2013.

The great thing about this album is Tobias did everything but the drumming, he even played all the instruments in the studio recording, much like the first Foo Fighters album.
