Hi, Hurraira. You are my favorite reactor: sincere, incisive, articulate. You seem to truly love the boys. I am fairly new to the fandom, which is one of the reasons I don’t think I can rightfully call myself an A’tin. Besides, the boys are still a secret pleasure for me, because I’m such a hypocritical narrow-minded musical snob, having confined myself to the rock, alternative, and alt-folk genres for ages, thinking this makes me “cool” 🙄🤮. I fell through the deep, deep SB19 rabbit hole just a month ago, while I was viewing reactions to KZ Tandingan and Bugoy Drilon (only his cover of One Day). I can’t really call myself a real fan of KZ or Bugoy, but I admire their voices and it makes me proud as a Filipino to see the awed reactions to their performances. It was during one of my viewings of these YT reactions that I happened to notice the thumbnails of the boys and decided to check them out. Of course I had heard of them through Gento, after all, I don’t live under a rock. Anyway, I can’t even recall what video reaction I clicked (probably one of their live performances), and from then on, there was no looking back. They have completely ruined my daily routine, as I have now been spending almost my entire day everyday consuming content about them, praying that they will continue making music together for many, many years to come, worrying myself to acid reflux about the state of the boys’ friendship (have to quit reading too much into the alleged lack of interaction between certain members). In short, I’m a goner. With the Moonlight video, SB19 shut the door out of the rabbit hole I’m presently in and threw away the key. I’m not (yet) a dance/electronic music enthusiast, but the video just made me love the boys even more because it showed their quirkiness, humor and profound sense of irony. I’m beyond help.
