I hope you'll read this Hello everyone after so many years! I'm so amazed how this video is still popular and it hit almost 2mil views! W O W! I made it when I was 12,5 years old and it's created with love for Hurrem Sultan, Magnificent Century and their history. That time when I was exploring Windows Movie Maker and unstable internet connection also knowing nothing about anything... *** VERY IMPORTANT *** About portraits that looks like different women - I made it not to be exactly how she was looking because we don't know. It was forbidden for painters and everyone else to enter the Harem, but there's maybe 2 authentic portraits of her. Maybe more I don't know. And because of that, because we can't have exactly the same face and everything, I decided to merge many ideas of different people how she looked like. So there you have ladies that have the clothes of that time; ladies with the face characteristics how Hurrem sultan was described; there's pictures that shows atmosphere of that time; also the portrait on 1:25 shows lady from a TV Show about Hurrem Sultan and I decided to put it in the video so we can see in reality, not just painted but modern view of her beauty, hair, clothes, etc... Hopefully you will understand why I created the video like this. Also I was a kid and didn't even thought about it will be soo popular :D Thank you again very much for the views, comments, likes and dislikes. I would like to continue creating videos (after so many years yes) because, now I'm more mature, but also I'm feeling responsibility for the all subscribers and people who support me and the videos. Peace and Love to all ! ♥♥♥ If you have suggestion for the new videos, write it in the comment bellow freely ♥♥ ♥

No, because no one from outside was allowed to see harem women. We don’t know what she looked like, but I’ve read in a biography of Suleyman that she wasn’t that beautiful, just pretty. She was more famous for her wit and liveliness (that’s why her name was “hurrem” the cheerful or happy one). In fact Mahidevran was said to have been of extreme beauty, but it seems beauty isn’t enough! And that’s a good thing actually.

Very hard to picture her. It wasn' t allowed for 'regular' foreigners to take a look at her as she was a wife of the Sultan. And people of the inner circle & diplomats would keep quite about her precise appearance. There re no accurate portraits around because of that. All pictures are more or less based on rumors and rather vague accounts.

Something about the place where Roksolana was born and kidnapped: it was a town established in the Polish Kingdom, very near to the present border between Poland and Ukraine. According to historians: Rohatyn (Ukr. Рогатин) - A town in the present Ukraine, in the circuit Ivanofrankivsk, the seat of Rohatyn region, Until 1945. [2] in Poland, in the province of Stanislawow (today Ivanofrankivsk), Rohatyn county seat. The first mention of the village dates back to May 15, 1390, in the Pope Boniface IX document issued to the bishop of Przemysl Eric. In 1415 Rohatyn received city rights from King Wladyslaw Jagiello (king of Poland and prince if Grand Llihuanian Duchy). In 1509 plundered by hospodar Bohdan from Moldova (the Rohatyn owner's widow, Barbara Pilecka was abducted along with her sons Rafal and Piotr [3]). In 1520 Rohatyn was invaded by the Tartars, who kidnapped Anastasia Lisowska (ROKSOLANA). In 1535 Polish King Sigismund The Old passed the town in the management of his wife queen Bona Sforza. From 1558 to 1562 the pastor in Rohatyn was Marcin Kromer, renowned Polish humanist, historian and writer. In 1614 Mikołaj Wysocki founded in the town an impressive church and convent of the Dominicans. In 1648, during the Cossack rebel Rohatyn was occuped by Bohdan Khmelnytsky. During the partition of Poland in 1772, Rohatyn was incorporated into Austria. In 1775 duchess Zofia Lubomirska received the town as compensation and soon after her palace was built In 1852 near the town was built railway line Halych-Ternopil. In 1914, during World War I, near Rohatyn was conducted heavy fighting between the Austrian and Russian armies. From 1918 the town was again in independent Poland (Second Polish Republic). In 1930 it's population was 8000. During the defensive war in 1939 (Poland was attacked by Germany on September 1st), the country was attacked also from the east by USSR on September 17th. Soviet troops entered Rohatyn and made here mass executions of Polish prisoners of war. From the summer 1941 the town was occupied by Germans, who in 1942 massacred .local Jews (about 3500). In 1941-1943 in the surrounding villages Potok, Zalipie, Czercz, Pułków, Wierzbiłowice Ukrainian Insurgent Army, collaborating with Germans and actively murdering Jews in the region, has made mass murders of the Polish population [5] (part of so called Volhynia Slaughter, when was killed 150 000-200 000 Poles from the present western Ukraine). In 1945 the rest of Poles (and almost all inhabitants of Rohatyn) were displaced to Poland in its new borders, and Rohatyn was incorporated into the Soviet Union. Since 1991 the town is the part the Ukrainian Republic.

+Al He Now, Mr. Know-it-All, Regardless of your Polish imperialistic agenda and the fact that Rohatyn,( the birthplace of Roxolana), was under Polish occupation (the word you somehow never used, even though that part of Ukraine had been OCUUPIED by Poles,- a historic fact),- everything pertaining to the history of this part of Ukraine, including Roxelana or Nastia Lisovska,(a daughter of a town Ukrainian Orthodox priest), is still a part of the history of Ukraine,- whether you like it or not. To claim otherwise,(something you're trying to do here), would be akin to the Russian imperialistic chauvinism in their claim to the territory, culture and the history of Ukraine. As to the last paragraph of that so-called "historical account of the events of Ukrainian history" of yours,- that is a crude mix of both Polish and Russian propaganda, when the facts of Ukrainian history are simultaneously misrepresented , presented out of the context, while some facts completely omitted to suit the political claims of an author. If you're indeed a Pole with a nostalgia for the imperialistic "glory" of your nation, my advise to you is to look at and learn from the nations with even bigger imperialistic past than Poland, say Great Britain, which don't claim the history of India, etc, simply because that nation had been under their control in the past. Otherwise you're no better then the imperialistically obsessed Russians, who still claim theirs the nations and lands on the basis of those "belonging to Russia" some time in the past.

Myroslava Jacklitsch you see,in early medieval era there was nothing like Polish occupation of borderline territories, who were in hands of ruling kiings and piinces (never in Kievian Rus, by the way), often due the successions and agreements. You know nothing about history, and write comic, ridiculous and nationalistic shit typical for 19th centuryUktainian activists and modern Ukrainian propaganda, ignoring all noncomfartable parts of history, also, what is spectacular, Bandera's collaboration with nazi SS and his mass murders. His monument in Lvov is the great scandal, especially, that Lvov was developed by Polish kings, Poles and than also Jews -who Bandera's troops killed in 1943 (150 000 Lvov's Jews). And what about Volyn slaughtery of more than 100 000 Polish inhabitannts, mostly women, children and old people, also in summer 1943?

i adore her, she was not responsible for ibrahim or Prince Mustafas deaths. The woman was laways blamed back than. she suffered so much and rose above for true love. Mahdeverian on the other hand... she as toxic and her constant pressure on mustafa definitely aided in his demise.

With the known facts (nationality, age she joined the harem, heritage) and how a man wanted a woman to look like back then : Grey or icy blue or "lilac" blue eyes. Fair to pale skin with freckles (or rosy cheeks). Blonde, Honey, Ginger or even almost blonde white hair. Average height, Slim to thin. Thin Arched Eyebrows and long hair. Cheekbones, small chin, thin lips. Beauty mark on cheek or chest (not sure). Flexible, slam feet and hands.
