Lambda sensor? Time for a decent 750mm 1/2" drive breaker bar & a 6 sided crow's foot. Any penetrating fluid needs to go on about 6-12 hours before the job starts.

AMC, take the baffle out sounds much better, and at highway speeds it's not as loud but in the city where it matters is music to the ears nice video.
@AndyManCam8 жыл бұрын
Cheer mate. To be completely honest, the baffle in/out is not super different. I've since found out that there are 2 different baffles for this pipe. One is long and restrictive, the other is short and the bare minimum of bafflage. Luckily I have the latter! So even with it in, it's still far from muted!
@Mil-Keeway6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video, it convinced me to buy a RAC1 for my 2nd gen Versys (2010) too. The install went a lot smoother than yours, partially thanks to your video and partially since the OEM was pretty clean, though the lambda sensor was similarly hard to loosen... It sounds vicious, thumping it under ~3K rpm makes it sound like a KTM LC4 or KLR single, and it backfires a lot when it's cold or engine breaking/coming off high revs. It's definitely way too loud for the city (Vienna), as people turn around everywhere with that "WTF is that" look on their faces haha. I haven't been stopped by the cops yet luckily!

What I don't understand is, how legal are aftermarket exhausts? Will you still pass the TÜV?
@AndyManCam8 жыл бұрын
+boellie2002 They're legal if they've been tested for your bike. Also has to have an E mark, though you can't have one without the other! This one comes with a certificate saying it meets legal requirements to be used on my bike. An 'Algemeines Betriebs Erlaubnis' or ABE. Also if the bike originally had a CAT, the aftermarket pipe must have one too.

Hello. How was it running? Did you do something with fueling?
@AndyManCam4 жыл бұрын
It was running fine. Seems the ECU took up the slack with the slightly increased Air flow. Though i had a standard Air filter, so not too much difference really. It’s possible that the slight richening at the low end from the boosterplug helped too.
@kraftybeard42728 жыл бұрын
That sounds better! Good to see all your hardwork payed off :) The exhaust looks good tucked away under the bike, but Kawasaki weren't being kind to anyone who has to work on it, turned it into a lovely crud magnet! If you find it does leak just smear a little heat resistant silicone inside the joint, worked wonders on my bike, super cheap and I now have a hand tube full for when ever I need to take it apart. Have you thought about getting stainless headers?
@AndyManCam8 жыл бұрын
Cheers! It definitely looks tidier now, if even a little bit empty on the one side! Seems to be such a tight fit that all the puff is going out the back. Would you believe that they ARE stainless headers! But near the join underneath they're just so covered in crap that they look like mild steel. At the block, they're gold and shiny!

Have you ever heard of "Anti- Seize" lubricant for those spark plugs, and O2 sensors? Or for any steel bolt inserted into any aluminum fitting? Massively needed in the UK. Always wet and everything rots. Ever watch Wheeler Dealers? The rot sets in quickly over there. No offense. We use it here in the US but we don't have the rust problems as soon as you guys do. Love your Vlogs though. You speak clearly which is rare.
