I'm so sorry Thomas. I feel for you. Reminds me of a toxic mold incident me and my family went through 7 years ago when we lost nearly everything. Just please watch out for mold growth -- get all of the moisture out, and if needed, consideration a proper remediation company. The last thing you need are health issues from toxic mold spores. Since it went under walls, it could potentially grow mold in the walls -- a silent killer. I'm speaking from experience, it sucks. All the best to your families. Yeah it would be smart to replace the lower section of drywall and maybe the insulation if that got wet too. Better safe than sorry when it comes to mold.

Several years ago a friend of mine was killed by a tree falling on his house, so I know first hand how close you were to things being much worse. I’m really sorry to hear you’re going through this but I’m glad you’re safe. Here in Houston we have hurricanes visit a bit too much as well and I’ve learned my lesson to put wood on the windows to prevent them from breaking and allowing water inside. I hope you can get back up again soon!
