OMGosh I didn't realize Helene did this much damage in Tennessee, all we've seen is videos of North Carolina. I'm in Florida and they only showed us NC. How sad, I grew up going to Gatlinburg every summer and as an adult I've stayed in Pigeon Forge many times. I spent Christmas week there one year and camped outside Dollywood a few times for the car show. Haven't been back up there since the fires tho😢. It's such a beautiful area and holds a lot of memories for me with my Kentucky family! It's sad all the damage this storm has done, I was really worried about Milton but thankfully he spared Florida for the most part, we were expecting a much larger impact than we got. Thank God he spared Florida once again🙏. You all are in our prayers!

We left Thursday we were staying at piegon forge resort campground the water came to close to our camper on Thursday they moved us Wednesday but Thursday the water was so high by then. We are home safe by leaving Thursday morning today friday lots of strong wind and rain Jonesborough TN stay safe everyone.

We left Pigeon Forge on Thursday. The rain did cut our mini vacation short, but we were at Dollywood on Tuesday, which worked out great, even with the little rain we did get that day. All in all we were able to do a lot of stuff, even in the rain on Wednesday. Be safe!

We drove to Gatlinburg on Saturday from eastern Hillsborough county. Used my Hillbilly Golf pass I won on Monday! Drove back home on Tuesday to hurricane prep and be with family. It’s going to be a mess far inland for many states 😢. Be safe 🙏

My Mother took me to Gatlinburg twice in the early 60s. I believe the first time was before I entered grade school. Back then the only notable attractions in Pigeon Forge were the Old Grist Mill and the Pigeon Forge Pottery Shop. The original owners family closed the shop in 2000 and moved to Colorado. (Has it reopened under new owners?) I still have one of their pieces.

Thanks for your updates. We are scheduled to come to Pigeon Forge on October 6 for almost 2 weeks. We're coming from Charleston, SC area & normally get off I-40 at Waynesville area, go thru Cherokee and 441 thru the mountains. Do you know of any road closes going that way? I saw that part of I-40 is washed out northwest of where we get off. Anyways, thanks again.
