You are lucky to have Aaron, nice to see a young man with common sense and a sense of humor. One of the problems with posting things on facebook is that not everyone has a facebook account ( like me) I’m nearly 70 and barely computer literate. I was stressed beyond belief once and a good friend sat me down and said “this to will pass” These are the things that we will sit around the fire and laugh about years from now, just do what you can, pay attention to the details and the big problems will handle them selves. You have surrounded yourself with good people, let them do what they do and you will come out of this on top.

I'm 2 minutes into your video and I'm already loving your video. I'm sorry for everything that's happened to NC, that sucks. My dad was contacted by the government and they want him to come out and coordinate the road and bridge repairs. My father is in his 70's and well sought out for his skill set. He was a former Army Corp of Engineer among a load of other stuff. He's really thinking about taking the job. If he does, I'll see what I can do to also tag along and head out there and help where I can. My mother isn't well so the whole decision is very hard.

@@TheRealMrDiGG I have an update on my dad. I guess he was planning on accepting the position but he called me up today and said that he got rejected because they said he was too old. My dad is pissed and will be filing age discrimination charges against whoever is involved. What I don't understand is why they contacted him in the first place? His resume started in the late 1960's so it should have been pretty obvious as to how old he was. Since he isn't going then I can't tag along. I was really hoping to move out that way and help wherever I could to help all the affected people. I don't know why but this whole situation has been weighing heavily on my heart. He did mention that he's strongly thinking about moving out of the area he's in, but I'm not sure what that means. I don't live anywhere near my parents but if they head east towards the Carolinas, you bet I'm going to try to tag along. lol

A lot of people don't like to burn pine, because it's so resinous, it can cause fires in fireplace chimneys. I'd like to see it used for lumber, but it's likely they have a glut of it all over the southeast, and picking up two or three trees here and there isn't economical. I burn some pine, but it's mixed in a little at a time with oak for the fireplace. Makes good kindling to get the fire started. I had 6 trees taken down, and the tree removal company was actually surprised I wanted to keep all the wood. I thought they might sell it, but they said they just grind it up and landfill it. Made me wince, but I grew up in tree sparse areas.
@calvincharlie703Ай бұрын
@@durgan5668I don't know about that. Here in Canada, we use pine all the time, it's the best wood to use for firewood. Easy to delimp and chop it up. Do mean alive pine wood? If so then yeah, we get dead pine only. Leaving all young ones.
