I went through Harvey. The build back and clean up are far worse than the storm. Dealing with insurance was a nightmare. Stay strong Florida. Help your elderly because ours were lost as to where to even begin. Lastly, it takes years to recover. Be prepared for it being a long time before things feel normal again.

Amazing and am sure we haven't seen anything yet once the tides settle down and go out again and this massive flooding exposes even more damage! We don't say that in FL! We prep for the hurricane then we chill! This isn't anything like a storm you'd get in New England. Our waters alone are so much warmer, it's what makes them so powerful. They don't get the same kind of storm that we do. that up north not FL, know your crowd

@@alongfellow4147 I know my crowd, because I've lived near the ocean and Cape Cod Bay my whole life! The ocean temperatures are much warmer here now because of GW/CC! That's whats also attracting more sharks than ever before, they love warmer waters! We also have more severe beach erosion and had huge icebergs taller than human beings on the outer beaches here a few years ago, first time ever as the Arctic ice cap is melting! There are photos of that on Google images and in the media! Hurricanes will get more powerful here as well due to GW/CC! We also have flooding here, too! And tornadoes but not as huge as elsewhere in the states! Pays to stay environmentally AWARE!

"Decimating parts of the state..." So -- only 10% of Florida was effected? Do journalists still study English?
@andrewbarrett1537
@andrewbarrett1537 Жыл бұрын
In some maps I have seen it does look like about 10% of the landmass was affected. But yes they should have said decimating the state. But not too many people remember that to “decimate” originally meant something like “take every 10th man...” etc.

@@andrewbarrett1537 Yah. I need to let go of the damage the American education system has done to us all. But sometimes that one gets used like the a caped superhero of Catch Phrases. I imagine some folk have lived there their whole lives. They have lived through countless hurricane scares and encounters. They may not have anywhere to go. They may not want to leave their home or their neighbors behind. That could be everything they have in life. They may not have taken it seriously enough because they’ve lived through these before and didn’t realize how bad this one would end up being. It’s not an easy decision to make for all. What if you don’t have a reliable car? Can’t afford enough gas to get out of Florida? People have different circumstances.

@@BL-jt3qt what a dumb and insensitive comment. Several of the reasons I gave above apply. Not everyone chooses where they are born and/or are able to escape said place. Also Florida is a fine state. Do you call the people in California stupid when they lose their homes to wild fires? Do you call the people of Kansas or Oklahoma stupid if a tornado destroys the farm they’ve lived in for generations?

People NEVER seems to amaze me. Whenever a huge storm like this is heading your way and it's THAT Strong and Dangerous?? Get THE HELL OUT!!! save yourselves and family. Everything else is materialistic. NOT your life. Now people are saying they need to be rescued or help from near drowning. With Days of warnings. I have no remorse at all when i see the one's who stayed behind trapped or on top of their roofs waving their hands for help. Especially when you had ample amount of time and warned to leave or evacuate. Hint People- Storm coming in 4 day's? Gas up- Gear up-Get out early. Storm over then go back home. Note: Don't mess with Mother Nature. The govr. Should have had the local schools or charter buses ready to transport anybody out of the a area to a safer area and had hotels or shelter ready for those who needed evacuation help. Now THAT is when you can legally bus people and NOT have to spend 600k.
