We're full here in Flagler County folks! I hear South Florida is nice 🙂. In all seriousness, I Vol.(F.D.)for 12yrs. in Flagler and told folks water was going to be an issue on this one. She didn't show it, but almost the entire barrier island just North of Marineland was compromised along w/losing our Pier again. Pier was 998' and measured 804' when I worked at the bait shop yrs. ago. Guessing we lost 100-150'

Thanks Veronica, this was once the wind and rain had calmed quite a bit / spotty rain and it was almost past us. We only left when we felt safe to do so, and turned around if something seemed unsafe. I chose to do so out of an abundance of messages asking how we were impacted in the area. Seemed like the easiest way to get the word out. I can’t speak for anyone else, but there were certainly quite a number of vehicles on the road.

We live in the F section of P C! We lost power for only 3 hours! After the power came back on nothing worked so I had to have someone come over to fix everything! I had two Citrus trees go over but I already put them back up! A 100 ft tree in the vacant lot behind us went down, if it had gone down the opposite way it would have hit a house! Water came up to our front door but I had towels down and they got wet! Just a few branches went down! We feel lucky! Usually we don’t get Hurricanes here!

Hello Maegan again any idea on what part of plam coast got hit the hardest ? Or what section . I still want to move there Thanks Tom
@movingtopalmcoastflorida2 жыл бұрын
@@Holyheart1 homes in areas prone to flooding, and waterfront / beachfront homes felt more impacts from flooding and winds. Aside from that I think it’s just smaller areas scattered throughout Palm Coast where roads and yards had more standing water. Some homes felt impacts from not being able to flush toilets for a period of time (pep tanks). And a lot of homes were without power scattered throughout Palm Coast as well. We didn’t lose power, I believe underground utilities helped with that.

My grandparents moved to Palm Coast in the early 80s when the alphabetical streets were first developed. They lost their first house to a forest fire, then rebuilt and stayed until the mid-90s. They never had a hurricane. This was quite a storm.

I've been trying to move to St Augustine for almost a year now. I've been there every summer almost my whole entire life. I truly hated seeing all the flooding. But maybe rent will be a little bit cheaper
@mandibarrett94012 жыл бұрын
Rent will not be cheaper due to storms. Storms are not new to our area. St Aug. is notoriously high priced around here. Many folks live in PC and drive to St. Augustine, however palm coast has now also become very expensive to live in. The population has gone from 60k to 90k in just two short years. The cheaper areas to live here now are Bunnell and Hastings.
@unorubbertoe2 жыл бұрын

If you live in Florida, eventually you will get hit by a hurricane. The preparation, the lack of electricity, and constantly repairing the damage does become exhausting. Vacation in Florida, don't live there.
@movingtopalmcoastflorida Жыл бұрын
Just seeing your comment! Florida isn’t right for everyone. For some, the challenges aren’t worth it, for others, it is worth it! There will never be a “perfect” place that everyone will agree on. One size doesn’t fit all. All locations will have their own set of challenges from time to time. An environment may be too cold, too hot, people don’t want to shoveling snow, dodging frequent tornadoes, lack of rain, too much rain, too much humidity, earthquakes…. You name it. It’s a matter of perspective. I believe the key is finding the perfect place for you! That looks differently for everyone. I hope you love where you live! Best wishes to you in 2023!
