If you're staying, clean and fill up your bathtubs. It's 100-110 gal of water. Add 10tsps of bleach to that to keep it from going stagnant. Fill up jugs, pails, bowls whatever you have. To 1 gal of water add 1/8tsp of bleach to that. Crank up your ice maker or ice trays, put the ice into plastic bags then keep in fridge or coolers. Out of wood? if you have a wood fence, use that on your windows. You can use tape in an X or go nuts, cardboard, anything to prevent glass from getting on you in the event you don't have shutters or wood. Gas grills..if you run out of propane you can use wood or charcoal. Make sure you unhook the propane tank first. You guys can be creative. If you find diatomaceous earth food grade, you can filter water with that. Spread this info. Stay safe and God bless.

water treatment uses bleach to clean water. Yes, it's drinkable water just be sure to use those instructions that I stated. I did look this up. I've actually had to do this. There's also baking soda that you can use if your that leary. Don't guess or use capfulls, use teaspoon, not tablespoon.

As for those of you wondering, you can usually go to u haul places places and get a ton of cardboard boxes for cheap, charcoal is cheap, and yes, if you use the correct amount of bleach and not too much, the water will be safe to drink.

Unpredictability of the storm is for sure keeping me on the edge with living in Florida on the gulf coast but on the same note, I thank God that regardless, it is out of the range of a path to Texas. They are still dealing with the aftermath of Harvey and do not need a double wammy against them. No States or the people in the islands should deal with this record breaking hurricane to be frank, prayers are with all residents within it's path.

The eye of Cyclone Marcia enveloped my house in Australia, with my family and myself in it ,a couple of years ago and when the 2nd round of reverse winds started to get really strong, the storm collided with a significant mountain range and disintegrated rapidly. I can just imagine the eeriness of the tranquillity on these beaches during the eye event. It really would be something to behold. Unfortunately for the West Indies and Coastal USA,there's no mountain range to slow this monster down.

A betting person would now be pretty sure that Naples will be OK. But these computer models are still just an educated guess, NOT certainty. The computer models are all showing an easterly shift in the latest BEST GUESS. Naples will probably just see some rain and strong breezes. I would stay tuned and delay leaving Naples. Tomorrow will be a better time to make a decision.
