This was one of the most insane storms I have experienced. It reached hurricane force by nightfall, and waves where 7 metres or 23 feet high. Quite spectacular. I had to bail my cozy campsite in the harbour to survive and get my van into a garage. I got some spectacular hurricane footage here, and a lot of it. I later returned with the van to the harbour to cook dinner by the ocean as the rain returned and lulled me into sleep like ASMR.

I was very impressed with some of the boats in the man made inlet there, they seemed safe because here on Vancouver Island with every gale we get we get a lot of boats thrown up on shore & of course many pulled loose from their moors & they end of sinking or damaged to the point that they can’t be repaired, so sad really.

Remember with hurricanes comes storm surges. This is what usually kills people. Make sure you keep up to date with weather forecasts about them and park safely. Otherwise keep chasing the storms to cosy up to lol. l love it.

Good idea to move your car from the first spot, it could have been hit (and swept away !!) by those huge waves... As human beings we are part of nature, but so extremely tiny opposed to the unchained elements. And unmighty. Those two men surely realize danger but prefer braving the sea, in their mood of superiority and recklessness. - The storm is subject of amazing magnificent black-white photography, as I earlier commented on your facebook Jarl. - Your little plants are doing well. 🌱 🌴 How well it does warming up with a hot meal and the magic of cosy little lights.... I love weather like that especially by the ocean & I’m lucky enough to live on the southern tip of Vancouver Island & can be by the ocean in a few minutes. I usually spend hours a day in the summertime there, but my favourite is when it’s like this with Gale force winds & if I’m lucky no rain so I can have my windows open, but just listening to it & being able to see the force of nature is my favourite thing in the world & surprisingly it is very calming to me. It is very dangerous though when the wave are coming over the sea wall & over your vehicle & that’s when I move back if possible or to another area around the ocean, just beautiful & dangerous.

We r familiar with such weather pretty often for our state borders an ocean n borders another state which borders ocean on both sides. We get the outer bans which comes along with tornadoes n flooding. I love weather. It’s fascinating on every level. Am thankful u n urs were all ok. LOVE the lighthouses n scenes which included them.
