It was a nightmare yesterday after the storm. Waking up to a surreal scenery. Trees hanging over the road, power lines and transformer bucket laying on the road. Being trapped on a one way street. Hearing sirens and seeing helicopters hovering over your neighborhood. No power or water. The bright side of it, I met all my neighbors for the first time. Instead of living in a fear, my neighbors all pitched in and we worked on cutting whatever we could from the fallen trees. Now we can get out of the street. I boiled bottled water on my weber grill to make coffee. Cut the bottom of the Kerig cup, discovered there is a filter under all the plastic. Slowly poured hot water and it worked. Nice coffee. Should have bought instant. Today we finally were able to get out in the roads and the traffic lights are out along Adamo, Flooding everywhere. No gas available and people impatient. The roads are packed.

It's amusing hearing non-Floridians tell Floridians how to build, where to build, how foolish we are, and all the other condemnation. Like we care. When you realize that people who stay in Florida or who were born here are just different, the sooner you might be able to make headway in an argument with us. For those who are coming here or plan to come here, you best be prepared to live this way of life, because nature doesn't care what you build. Devastation is across the entire state, not just at the coasts. I personally love Florida. I'd never live anywhere else. You see that gentleman who said him and others ran straight into danger - that's how it is in Florida. We come together in crisis and in disaster. In Hurricane Mathew, we were devastated and our community of 26 homes had no way out from all of the damage. My neighbors yelled and me and 2 others came running across the street while trees were falling to get them help. We went without power for about 7 days or so, with a newborn. We cut up the trees, wenched them off homes, and drug them out with our own equipment. We setup stations for food, water, stadium lights, community folding tables to sit at and eat whatever the Texan neighbors were BBQing, even TVs on generators so we didn't even miss a football game. I cannot begin to tell you all of the amazing things people did for each other. It is not for everyone and yes, it comes at a high cost. It's a different way of life. I'd never tell you how to live yours.

The tornadoes made this storm so much worse than it would’ve been. The winds on the east coast barely made it to tropical storm levels other than where the eye went. The surge on the coast was bad as expected and Florida has been getting a lot of rain over the summer so the drainage areas were full. They do need to get rid of mobile homes tho. So much of this damage they’re showing is mobile homes that wouldn’t last through a cat 1. Insurance isn’t covering most of the damage from Helene or Milton since they don’t cover flooding. Thankfully they weren’t as bad as Andrew, Charlie or Ian

Israel is spending billions and losing lives thanks to our government and the EU funding the Iranian terrorist regime attacking them on multiple fronts. Iranian terrorists proxies are here in the west, FOOL, and Israel has destroyed much of their leadership capabilities! Israel is literally fighting the world's biggest sponsor of terror, that attack all over the globe, so shuttup. The money Israel receives is paid back in many ways through longstanding agreements. How bout we stop funding the pointless Ukraine war where there's never a call for a ceasefire and stop funding illegal migrants flooding our open border. How about we stop funding universities who encourage and support terrorist supporting, America hating useful idiot students???!!!

It went to the people in need and they need more help. I have family and friends who gotten help, but the need more. You are talking about millions of people, across multiple state, that's where the money went. If congress would release a bill for more support, people would get more than 750 dollars. 750 x millions of people in need of help and sba loans to help businesses. All the fed working. That's where the money is going. People are hurting and we need congress to come back from vacation to help these people.

@@jackhang2178 No. That is literally not how these things work. The pictures you see on the internet are usually the hardest hit places. The news keeps showing trailer parks because they look the worst and will get the most viewers. I have been in really really big typhoons (hurricanes on the east side of the globe) and the news showed even worse images than what they are showing now and when I went around the city there were pockets of destruction in areas that had poorly built buildings like trailer parks but the majority of the place was fine. You don't know what you are talking about and are thinking that the worst of the worst pictures are the norm and not the exception. Get a grip on reality and try to think for yourself once in awhile.
