My dad told me a story about a hurricane in the 50s, in Louisiana. People didn't expect it to be bad so they camped out on the beaches to have "hurricane parties" they all got drunk and wanted to ride out the storm. Hundreds died. Pretty wild

Torpedo Extra IPA is a really good west coast style IPA it just takes some time to get used to. I recommend that you stretch your palate out with a regular Sierra Nevada Pale Ale once a month & then try the Torpedo Extra IPA, after about 2 or 3 practicing with the with the regular Sierra Nevada Pale Ale which is also less bitter & lower in alcohol than the Torpedo Extra IPA you might end up liking this beer after all. When I first started drinking stouts & IPA's I could not stand them either but after getting used to them I enjoy drinking both styles of beer whenever i'm in the mood for some

... I love you for it. I was reminded about a Burt Bacharach (I think) song: "What the world needs now is love sweet love" a little girl is asked "What does bigotry mean?" And she answers 'I don't know what biggery is." The basis of the major religions is love. Yet we skew that into loving only our own religion, skin colour, country of birth, school, job, clique and so on. At its essence, it takes a lot of effort to keep others in their "different" categories. In line with that and what you discovered about your Irish heritage: I have Irish heritage. The Irish were segregated in a small country town and were very badly treated, yet far better than our First Australians. What happened in large cities I can only guess at. My Scottish ancestors changed names to be more Irish so they could get work. When I went to primary school, 1000s of years ago, Greeks, Italians, Lebanese, etc were migrants to Australia. For me, it wasn't an issue because I knew no different. When I was in high school Asian immigrants were causing complications for those who weren't educated with Greeks and Italians as the kids I went to school with. Since then we have had other waves of people coming here, some fleeing from desperate war situations in their own land. We suddenly have no land, no jobs, no time for them and that's not getting to the boat people. We don't see it as an opportunity to share and care. It's an opportunity to show our ignorance and to expect them to do what we would not. If we loved and cared for our fellow human being there'd be no crime, war, segregation, hate, ... If you believe in Adam and Eve, we all come from them. If you believe in the 40 days' of flood, we come from Noah. If you believe in the ancestral DNA it points to a limited origin at the very least. Sorry, I get annoyed when I think about what's been done to people since people on earth began. We can make it right if we try but we need more than a dedicated few. I often wonder how God must see us and the world he created. Does she cry with despair at what we've done?

Sierra Nevada Tarte Nouveau is amazing. Sour saison I believe but it is great. I prefer sours mostly and have tried a few decent ones. My opinion Cuvee de Jacobins Flanders Red Ale is amazing. Sad thing though the Cuvee I drink is like $22 for four

I did my ethnicity DNA test from ancestry.com and found out I am 51%-Ireland 34%-European West 8%-Scandinavian 3%-Liberian Peninsula 2%-Italy/Greece and lastly 2%-Great Britain so overall I'm 100% European (I'm Scottish by the way) but what did surprise me was the Scandinavian which I would have never thought I would when what my theory is that Vikings landed in Ireland hundreds of years ago I think it's the 800's and were part of a settlement in Ireland and then eventually my family moved over to Scotland. But that's pure speculation.
