people would be more than £300 better off if they stopped mass migration and insisted that the only people coming in had both money and skills we need. Rent per annum has increased by around £3000 a year on average since covid....there is only one reason for that and it is because of high demand. I know for a fact that there are many houses with a dozen or more working men from various nations living in them, as basically slaves, doing jobs like groundworks, dry lining, brickwork etc...I know this because i have worked with them on site and speak to them. Stopping this abuse of the law, housing etc will massively reduce costs for society in general and make wages increase....

I've been a self employed tradesman for coming on 40 years, i've seen and been through all the peaks and troughs and i don't need an economist or a government to tell me how the country is going, i can tell by how much people want to pay and by how often my phone rings. And my phone has gradually rang less and less over the past 2 years to the point it doesn't any more. And it's not just me, plenty of my mates are in the trades and they are in the same boat. It's not good out there.

@@fizzog12 I hear you mate, for years December was always good for rushed work, work always guaranteed and earned enough to cover January which historically is a quiet month, not now, iv'e had nothing for months now, nothing. I go to my usual suppliers touting for work but they are telling me they get dozens of guys a day doing the same, and 3 of my suppliers have had to lay off staff because sales are so low. Another gauge i use for how work is is when people post jobs on local facebook/nextdoor, they post a job and withing minutes dozens and dozens of 'trades' are on it, many of them saying they can start immediately, when times were good no way could a decent tradie start a job the same or next day, not a chance. Last week a job came up on a local group, small box room needed painting, within a couple of hours 163 people had offered their services. That's nuts and is a good pointer of how things are going right now.

No economically successful country spends (inflation adjusted) more than £15k per household. USA, Germany, Switzerland... even the UK until 1997. Wealth per head: Swiss now $500k /head vs. UK at $100k. Average salary in USA £50k, Switzerland £85k ... but still spending £15k per household. Immigration in USA since 1950 40%, in Switzerland 265%, UK 40%. And % minorities (races religion...) exactly the same. So it ain't that. So why is Britain still at £35k salary and not growing? Falling well behind the world? Because since 1997, UK Government spending has increased - big State, the Govt. to solve all problems! They're buying our votes with tax and debt. So more than £15k pa her UK household? yep... today it is an astonishing £45,000 per household. OMG no wonder. Why so much? Simple... 99% of our immigrants bring nothing. No skills. No money.

Yes, but at least our country has First class health care and the roads are in mint condition. The police are good at pointing radar guns at uou, and better still, all the AI robotrons can do you for driving around sensibly . The streets are clean, and we can all walk around at night knowing we are safe. Why is everybody complaining about our money being spent supporting Ukrainian dictators and unwinnable wars? And transferring all our money to mega corporations drug cartels abd arms manufacturers. Weathers good too, Stop moaning! Happy days😂

Nobody profits from a recession. Bad management is bad management - the quality of the people elected to Westminster and the Parliament has been in sharp decline for a good two decades now, too many very inexperienced and unworldly people are being made exclusive to these offices, and where we really should have seasoned big business veterans and mature council veterans we get unworldly university graduates and diversity hires and the like... I've watched Sir Kier since he replaced JCorbyn as leader, and people do possibly forget that initially he was quite an exciting choice, the future seemed bright with him installed. That only lasted a few months though as his lack of ideas, charisma, and any Manifesto became very apparent, and his arrival into No10 took his unsuitability for Politics, and any Cabinet job, to stratospheric levels. He is completely out of his depth, on every single level. Which is why he is forever jetting off on some overseas trip. Don't blame this decline on some purposeful conspiracy, because the decline is far more societal and homegrown in nature than blaming some foreign secret Iluminati from straight out of a James Bond film...

So if Labour somehow manage to stay in power long enough it will go like this. The current line: "The economy is in the toilet because of the Tories and we can't do anything to fix it right now." The next line after Smarmy Starmy isl booted: "We can't do anything about the economy because my predecessor didn't implement the right changes to the economy after the Tories left power." The line after that... it's just a tweaked verson of the last one.

Starmer said that he wants to copy the welsh model , Labour have always been in power down here in Wales and if he is doing the same as welsh government then the UK is really in trouble . Highest unemployment rates , longest waiting lists for NHS treatment even for minor surgeries , we have thousands of people of working age that are willing to go back to work but can't because they are waiting for small operations like hernia ,knee cartlige ,back and shoulder injuries etc which are an easy fix but have been waiting so long they have had to quit work and go on benefits .We have he worst standards of education in the UK which doesn't exactly encourage business to set up in Wales and neither does our 20mph default speed limits causing deliveries not to get done in adequte time .Highset council tax rates and business rates and a long hours low wage culture .Besides that Wales is a lovely place to live as long as you have money .

We are already in a recession... It is Xmas and you would expect a boost in retail right now... Instead we see negative growth... Technically a recession! They made a rule that it has to be negative for 2 quarters , however it should be on a monthly basis as then a government might take action immediately that way instead of deciding they have 6 months to wait before they do anything...

For 14 years Labour persistently sniped that Tories were bringing about a recession, a double-dip recession, a long and deep recession, the biggest recession ever etc etc etc. It never happened apart from a brief dip due to covid lockdowns which could not have been avoided whoever had been in government at the time. Now within a few weeks of Labour taking office, we have an entirely Labour-made recession which will almost certainly not be a short one. Technically we are not yet in recession, but we know in reality we are. They said cruel Tories would slash pensioners fuel allowance, but it was Labour did it. They said Tories would cause a recession many times, but it was Labour did it. They said Brexit would crash the economy, but its Labour doing it. They said Tory policies would cause riots, but it was Labour policy that caused riots. They said people would lose rights and freedoms under "fascist" Tories, But its Labour taking away freedoms. They said Tories would destroy the country, but it is Labour doing that. They said Tories would allow more boat arrivals, but Labour has seen a 20% increase already. They said Tories would make UK look foolish on world stage, then put Lammy and Rayner on show. They said Tories would increase energy prices. but it was Labour who have increased price cap TWICE. They said Tories would increase taxes, but it was Labour who increased taxes by record amounts. They said Tories would spend money we dont have, but it was Labour who increased debt even more. They said Tories would bring about power outages, but it is Labour who are risking energy security. etc etc etc some kind of pattern emerging here. What an evil bunch of lying hypocrites!

Covid could have been avoided, we are an Island, we could have closed all incoming and outgoing movement. We knew covid was coming when it got to Italy. They wanted it here! If someone came to my house saying " there is a maniac with a big knife coming up the road trying all the door handles", I would lock the door!
@alberttatlock1541
@alberttatlock1541 2 күн бұрын
I dont think covid could have been avoided. What you suggest is what happened in Australia and New Zealand, that didnt go down well, and it got them just the same a bit later. We did essentially close down incoming and outgoing movement, the skies were empty and airline companies faced disaster - however there were many thousands of UK people abroad who had to be returned here, plus we had to have essential food deliveries and medical supplies etc brought in. There isnt a country in the world that didnt get it. We were only a week or so behind Italy, it was already seeded here by the time we realised it. Anyway, I didnt say covid couldnt be avoided I said the recession caused by lockdowns couldnt be avoided. Even if we had avoided covid the rest of the world was locked down so we couldnt trade with them, we would soon have run out of raw materials and not sold any goods abroad, so we would have had a recession.
