In this video, Hurvin Anderson shares a photograph which has inspired his paintings. Are there any photographs which have inspired you to create an artwork?

Most definitely! I use my own photographs in my process as a starting point. Sometimes I mix the background from one with the subject from another. I don't consider using pictures as cheating. If it's part of your creative process there's nothing wrong with it. Thank you for sharing Hurvin Anderson's work. I really enjoyed learning about his thoughts behind his art making.

Great paintings, great artist. Pride of Handsworth and Birmingham. Would love to have shown your work at Handsworth Library, but just too big now. S. Ayub, Library Manager.

I like his delivery. simple, genuine. Too many arts come across self obsessed, pretentious. He doesn't.

Beautiful! This is a save. An extraordinary and original talent. Fascinating experimentations into abstraction. The inclusion of geometric motifs is a master stroke in juxtaposition. Added to my artist research file for uni!

I can't help but laugh when an artist tells you what they're interested in. Dang near every artist seems to do it as a lead in to describe their work. Anyways, not a criticism, just a humorous observation.
