I've realized it's only our ego (hiding all the wrong ideas, convictions, patterns and programs) holding us back from getting to know what a woman really is, and from finding what we're truly looking for, while simultaneously becoming a person that deserves it. The sheer process of getting there, dries out efficiently any leftover traces of tears accumulated over the hopeless, ignorant era to the point it makes no sense to feel sad or sorry about yourself (or _fellow_ men) it's laughable.

But is still a poor idea. The drywall is a sound reflective surface. They would have been much better off if they covered the panels in cloth or even using sound deadening tiles. The insulation is secondary and will do nothing to improve the sound inside the room.

@@alanmcentee9457 Do you really think that they care about a little echo in a home theater. With a bathroom near by, and the ability to pause the movie to take a shit, or deal with kids. It's a home theater.
@alanmcentee94576 ай бұрын
@@robertc49 If they want a good home theater they would. But then it is possible you missed the part where they also stuffed insulation on top of the drywall.
@hskrgrad6 ай бұрын
@@alanmcentee9457 The insulation wasn't for the movie experience or acoustics in that room. It was to keep the sound contained to that room as to not hear it in the room above.

As a 50 year construction guy, that is a genius idea to be very honest. No different than a drop ceiling, for the most part. In terms of cost, very inexpensive. However, i would have likely given up 3 inches or 4 inches to hang a ceiling. Why? Running piping or cables is much easier than poking holes in the span of the joists. A simple thing but tedious. On the other hand, it would have cost more. I think its a fair trade what he did if he never needs to add much cable or wire in the future. I like it though. Looks pretty slick

It does look good but I bet they are spot on with acoustic being garbage. The drywall carries no nrc and I 100% sure she never told you the truth on cost. But like I said it does look good and will still cost less than a drop ceiling. If you wanna help with acoustics you can get yourself some wall panels but it won't stop noise transfer from basement to main level.

This wouldn’t come from an engineer perspective, don’t worry. I’ve been a plumber for 30yrs and when I first saw these I hated them cuz that plywood is extra hard to drill. Supposedly it helps a lot with the noise above. However, I told a customer to do this exact thing over 20yrs ago in their custom home and everyone drooled at it in the basement. They also did it in other areas of the house. My previous owner put 1x cross sectioning the joists in the basement to install some asbestos looking tiles. I pulled it all down and went with the joists to make the brick fireplace pop!! Was always a great idea
