Ethiopian food is different from entire world. "Injera", kocho, doro wot, shiro wet, ketfo, etc makes it totaly different from other our beloved African neighbouring countries. Thank you for trying our food much love from Ethiopia 🇪🇹

The sad thing is the lady did't eat it in the right way, not worth at all scooping the food from the platter and eating it in a small Plate without INJERA.That is not our culture and the way our authentic traditional food has to be eaten. It looks for me some kind of food in a small plate to be eaten so quick.

Heading to Kenya the end of June 2022 to visit with my wife's family. I have been eating Kenya food a lot since we met. The bread that they have is called Chapati and is like a tortilla but made from flour. Also goat is a big meat there and managu (we grow here ourselves, African Nightshade, bitter but you cook with onions, tomatoes, and spinach which removes the bitterness) Saget is another green we have and also grow. We got the seeds from others in the community and they replant themselves every year. I have tried African foods from different countries there over the years, and it is all good. Even visited Morocco years ago and their food has more of a Halal flair based on their religion. Always interesting to learn food from other countries and cultures.

Winter might enjoy Timatim fitfit . It is shredded injera mixed with fresh tomato salad but order it without the chilies since she seems to like eating injera. It is usually served to children and adults eat the spicier version. They also have fresh cottage cheese she would enjoy with her Timatim fitfit for protein and calcium called Ayib. I think it is wonderful you are enjoying international cuisines with your daughter. She will remember and appreciate these family moments and it will help give her a global perspective throughout her life .

Our food is amazing, thanks for trying. We Africans have pride in our continent, but we want to be represented from the country we come from. I’m Ethiopian and I love my brothers/sisters from other countries in the continent. However, we want to be acknowledged correctly. Thanks Torie for being specific. Travis I’m impressed, you did well. You don’t have to use the dip for the appetizer (Sambosa), it is optional. Yes, we have utensils, it tastes better when you eat it with your right hand. If you want to have the full experience, it is better to eat it like Travis. I love you guys and maybe go with Ethiopian person next time, so they can show you the right way to eat. It is okay Torie, next time you can try eating it with Injera (Sourdough like bread). The music in the video represents west africa not East Africa or Ethiopia. (1) Doro Wot is chicken stew with boiled eggs and Ethiopian spices. (2) Meser Wot is lentil stew with spices

You've to try it the right way; you would love it even more! After washing your hands, just Scoop up meat/ sauce/vegetable etc with the injera. With each scoop, when you switch & mix in between the sauce/meat/vegetable , the blend taste is phenomenal.
