@@katvelyte I think the captions (TV or movie or videos) are computer generated rather than by an actual human. The computer just prints what IT thinks is being said. And, for TV and movies, they need a real human who not only goes by the script but also by what is actually said - sometimes the actors don't 100% follow the printed script (Ex: Judy Garland herself made the comment about not being in Kansas - it wasn't written that way).

Im all for making the world more accessible (and it would be cool for every video to have accurate captions), but that doesnt happen through someone throwing around terms and acting offended. Someone can not have accurate captions just because they dont think about them that much. Not everything is a personal attack.

If you want a Backrooms game that's also good and makes you laugh - check out Escape the Backrooms. It was created mostly from one creator so much of the humor comes from the lower quality, but still very fun for co-op playing.

I'm really curious what their audio setup is for these games. They clearly can hear the whistling and beeping, but don't seem to be picking up on the positional audio (e.g. the switches are the things that beep).

I'd say Pools is a bit closer to the vibe from Piranesi, a lot quieter and more contemplative without any clear tangible monster chasing you but I can def get the comparison between the recent bump in liminal space focused games and something like Piranesi. It's such a good book, I highly recommend House of Leaves at well, it's definitely a harder read both physically and mentally but is well worth it imo. Plus so much indie horror media and liminal space stuff references it
