My dad still has this same exact lawn mower in his garage, but it's seen better days. He bought it brand new in 2002. It held up for 10 seasons worth of cutting our grass. It's a good lawn mower, just needs some TLC for it to run again. Hopefully I can convince him to refurbish it one day to see it cut grass again.

I bought a Huskee riding mower earlier this year. Overall, I found it pretty much equal to the more expensive John Deere. It's the same basic layout and they're both made with Chinese parts. The only drawbacks I found on the Huskee besides getting used to the left handed drive control is the much smaller gas tank and the fact that the trailer hitch hole was a hair too small for a ball hitch. Also, It's been impossible to find how much oil the Huskee's Powermore engine holds. MTD makes the Huskee mower but doesn't acknowledge it.

the solenoid is under a panel in the middle of the frame of the mower just under the dash ..... but i no longer have this mower i now own a craftsman

Hi I have the same tractor im fixin for a neighbor,could you give me some info how to fix something,the lever to engage the mower doesn't work and wont engage the mower no more,he just got it out from storage and im tryin to fix it for him,thanks.

Sounds like the PTO cable needs to be replaced. I put new drive belts on it last year because you couldn't drive it and now it drives like new. Now it doesn't get used that much anymore since my grandfather bought a John Deere D140 three years ago.

I'm having an issue with my huskee riding mower...its a quick cut 46 ...Briggs and Stratton I bought it used put a new solenoid and battery in it ...won't start just acts dead every time I try battery is fully charged ...any ideas

hopefully you got it figured out by now. Sounds like though if its trying to turn over but, has acts as if battery is dead it may need a valve adjustment

427 Elevating Productions yeah i bought it used a kid did whatever to it before his mom sold it to me...i got.it running for 2 months before it quit again i was told it was the head gasket sp i put a new one in it..now it fires right up but will not shift out of 1st gear? runs and cuts the grass just wont shift for.some reason everything is hooked up and works just its extremely slow when mowing my huge yard because of the shift issue havent dug it.out yet so woking on it later this week thanks though for the reply i have already adjusted the valves last summer
