Actually, Jamie, you might try Jodie's trick of putting down a layer of cooling foam. With Key, he actually puts his tail or paw on his bed once in a while because the bed is cool. 😆

Humans are just the same when it comes to beds, especially if on holiday and you find the allocated bed is not as fit as what you have back home. So keep that in mind when discussing Sherpa's needs, as all beds when new have that odour about them that takes time to get rid of and Sherpa being who he is , is particular about where he sleeps . Sherpa might have slept in the new bed for a while, got too hot and moved. It looks like a cool bed. (As in cool fabric). But husky/Malamutes get too hot and seem to prefer the cold floor. I hope you are all having a lovely day. 🐕💖

Sherpa is a real dog's "dog"! Who needs comfort? He walks miles each day, climbs dozen of stairs to visit ancient castles, opens sausage packages with his bare teeth, swims in cold water and quenches his thirst from the coldest puddles, rides in the back seat of the mini with his face to the wind and only wears a safety harness and raincoat because dad makes him. Plus, he helps fight zombies with Bat Dog! We understand, Sherpa, and we love you just the way you are. The bed is wonderful, Illana, and I think Sherpa secretly really loves it!

Lucky Sherpa! The Hoolihounds have that same bed and they LOVE them. Typical greyhounds, they like to roach across the bed and squish their heads into the corner. I really like that they're super easy to wipe over. Sleep well, dearest Sherps.

Animals are just like any other living thing. They are comfortable with what makes them comfortable. You can lead a Sherpa to a comfy bed but you can't make him sleep in it.

I would always get on the new bed first and act like it was mine, and my Belle girl would then have to make certain she took it over. She looked almost identical to Sherp. I love the personality of the husky / malamute cross breeds. That what I think she was anyway.
