Its not bad, these 281's are a pretty tough pull in good nick, the one in this vid is a good one, it locks up on me a few times when im trying to get it going... nearer 170psi for a good one I would say... if it runs good and hauls ass don't worry about the number. Every comp gauge reads a little different.

Little too much saw for you. If you cant pull the compression, you should probably look at a smaller series. Smaller saw will do a lot of work. Once you get enough hours behind a medium level saw, then maybe look at a saw like this. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but big saws are for big operators with lots of experience. They are extremely dangerous in the hands of the uninitiated. Take your time, learn, then open the door on this saw.

You have no idea ' 281 is a very high compression saw and has no compression release ' will rip your arm off trying to crank it. Best to put it on the ground and stand on it.
