I've done a couple conversions, found that grinding for the air impulse was not needed. There was enough of a gap for the impulse to work fine. Used both aftermarket and OEM cylinders. Just my opinion.

I can agree with that. Most certainly can. Its definitely not sealed air tight between the cylinder skirt and crankcase.

so i have a husqvarna 350 doing a 346xp 45mm big bore kit. if i want to do a gasket delete just whip my dremel out and do this and i should be good? provided i check squish also

@@surfjat15 yeah you should have plenty of room for that but of course like you said you want to check it. I get my squish where I want with the bearing cap. That's what I sand down to get my desired squish on these. The top of the bearing cap

The 346 isn't 45mm though. 346 is 44.3mm and the 353 is 45mm

Hey Jeremy, any chance you know where the 'strap plate' lives on the saw? Is my fist time stripping my saw and i usually video the strip to play backwards as a rebuild tutorial.

@@jeremythomas9134 It's an 039 but I've solved the problem. It's part of the chain brake assembly. Apparently it sits over the pin the hand guard attaches to to lock it in, between that and the pin that holds the brake band hinge lever. Had my head wobbled for a while.
