Basically let the camera run while putting that 390 together. The "Part 2" Of replacing the crank, seals, and bearings in a Husqvarna 390..this is the REST of the build.

About the same number of pulls as my Stihl saws - 6 to rollover and two more to start. Sometimes they take 10,2 but usually 6,2. After that it is 4,2 if they have been run recently.

Which is why it's impressive, that was the first start from a dry tank, carburetor, fuel lines etc. after a complete rebuild with all that assembly oil in there. I fully expect it to be a 3 or 4 pull start saw from cold from a "wet" tank and first pull restart saw.

I love my 372 I really super love my 572 however when knocking down Big Timber and bucking them up the 390 is unmatched.

Hope you got your new wood shed filled up. From what I see on the weather channel is reporting, you will soon be buried in snow and ice. It is cold, here, so I know it is cold in the petrified north. I am sure we will get some of the white stuff before spring. Lot of spare time to work on stuff because it is to cold to do much outside. Maybe you can find enough time to shine up some chains with a file. 😀

I'm looking a 8 inches down on top of an ice storms mess and its still snowing hard. Hope the big chained up 1066 fires up today!

Thanks so much for this video fella. It was really useful. Could you help me with this question please? - What is the diameter of the crankshaft as it passes through the main bearings? I'm hoping to make an electric mill using mostly 390 parts and this is the crucial dimension I need to design everything around.

The top cover on that is T27 torx? On my 390xp they look like phillips heads and they are stuck in there with a vengeance!
@afleetcommand Жыл бұрын
Not sure what year they went to torx. But I have seen the same "tightening" or sticking of cover screws on those for a long time to the point I anti-sieze them. I have no idea why either. OR use a higher grade screw with torx or at least a allen.
@Randpage Жыл бұрын
@@afleetcommand Ordered a new cover with torx and I'll definitely anti seize them. The old cover didn't survive. Can't believe how seized that was wow.

I just rebuilt a 390xp the same as this and I can’t for the life of me get it to start. I’m using a 40:1 mix, not sure if that’s my issue but it seems to soak the plug after one or two pulls. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

You use the stock muffler that burns the hand gaurd and plastic?
@afleetcommand Жыл бұрын
No idea where you are coming from. Most of my customer saws have the muffler mods I do. But there have been a few I've done for dealer or warranty work where they define what I do and what parts are used. I've seen a ton of both stock and modded 390's over the years.

I've heard rumors of 395s and 088 clones are coming on the forums? And maybe a power head 460? Didn't know if you had heard?
@afleetcommand5 жыл бұрын
Haven't really been watching that stuff for a bit. Maybe this winter.
@iraagans31445 жыл бұрын
@@afleetcommand 10-4 I've watched you do a bunch of builds and and have really learned alot. I recently found and bought an 088 stihl ( not an easy task in South Carolina) and it would be AWESOME to see you do an 088 clone. Thanks for all the videos, my personal opinion is that you are building quality saws and that people using them besides your self are ruff and abusing them because there not high dollar stihl or husqvarna, just my opinion.

Huztl / farmertec have just released the 460 kit and over the next year or so will hopefully release the 288xp, 395, 3120 880 etc and maybe a few others
