We are comparing the Husqvarna 445 to the Husqvarna 450, we are just messing around with the 2 saws just for fun.

Buying my boyfriend a saw today, a gift from me for helping me on my recreational property....we were borrowing his dad's chainsaw last summer. I was gonna get him 445, but I'm picking up the 450rancher instead because of this video. Thanks for the video :) I'm excited to get it and it's for him, I've never used one. lol

A 450 is not going to a 445. They are the same saw. Only the Bar/Chain length is different. Now, a properly tuned saw will out perform an out of tune saw and a Saw with a Good Chain will outperform a saw with a worn chain. You might want to set the two saws up identical and try again......

445 is a detuned 450 with about .2 less horsepower, so the 450 will cut a little faster.

@@glennvernes8305 I think you also have the choice of having 18'' or 20" bar with 450...vs only 18" with 445 when I was researching the two....

My 445 has a 20 inch bar and works without issue. I have been tempted to even put a 24 inch on it. As long as the pitch is .325 and gauge is .50 it should work. Yes, the max length that is recommended is 20 inch, but whats the fun in that. That chain is not sharp on their 445.

The three saws I run all the time are the Husqvarna 572xp, Echo CS-590, and Husqvarna 550xp. For the small stuff the 550xp is just as quick as the bigger saws. In the hot summer the little 550xp is a lot nicer to use. For me making firewood on the side, and into a full-time business being the goal, I bought the pro saws for more durability and faster cutting than what the homeowner saws are capable of doing. That said, the little 450 Rancher is a great homeowner saw. Echo would be my "go to" saw brand for homeowner grade equipment. Plus modified some of their homeowner saws hold their own against modified Husqvarna and Stihl. Got the chance to run a ported Echo 501P, and let me tell ya that little thing absolutely smoked my Husqvarna 550xp. In the small wood it was just as quick as my big 572xp. Is all about the size of the saw being matched to the wood. No way would I try cutting that biggest log with anything less than a 60cc class saw like the Echo CS-590, mostly from the standpoint of cutting that long and hard with the little saws is too much heat stress on them in my opinion.

I like both saws but the 450 is more cut out for the bigger stuff. I went to that long yard sale Friday and bought a echo chainsaw, a echo Weedeater, and a homelite chainsaw for 12 bucks. The echo chainsaw needs a pull rope. The echo Weedeater needs the carb cleaned and the homelite runs and cuts. But the homelite needs needs a chain. It has 3 broken teeth.

I need another saw, as there a big ash tree to come down in my garden this winter. Was thinking about the 440 or 445, now I want a 450. In the 90s for a week so I am not getting anything done !

Actually, there both good saws, I think my chain was dull on the 445 it usually cut's better

At some point the 445 was bumped up to 50cc's so essentially its the same as a 450 .even when the 445 was 45cc's the power head was identical to the 450 just 5 less cc's , same as the 455/460 .

445 is a de tuned 450 just as 435 is a de tuned 440. Don’t ask me why Huskvarna does that.

Pull the top off that 445 and look at the top of the cylinder. See if it is stamped 44 on it. If it is,your 445 is also a 450. I just put a new cylinder on mine that i bought new in 2008. It was a 450 with a 445 sticker on it.
