For anyone that doesn't know, you can adjust the oil output on the bottom of this saw for too much/little oil or different weights. Look for an adjuster screw with +/-.

I’ve got a small brush with the combi can and brush off and around the caps before refuelling/filling with oil. Have a quick slap down of clothes that could drop debris into the tanks. I figure it takes a couple of minutes - but if there’s nothing extra going into the tanks, I don’t need to worry about it afterwards. If there’s sawdust on the thread as I remove the cap, it gets wiped off. Helps keep the O-rings good.

It takes less time to be careful than it does to respond to the problem of not oiling. Good plan.

Chain oil is the best to fix cos you know it should go in to the tunnel and come out of the other end and somewhere in between is the problem. Schmutz is usually in play. Good video 👍 Merry C

Pressurized / cleaned out vent hole did the trick. If my old 455 ever develops this problem, I’ll know where to start. Only time it didn’t want to oil, hole in the bar was plugged up. Laaaaaater

It is easy to get some chips into the tanks and maybe it would help if the manufacturers would raise the fuel and oil filler spouts a little. Dull chain making fines will realy make it difficult to keep the tanks clean.
@TheGreasyShopRag20 күн бұрын
Yes, some of those fillers are hard to deal with. We need some young engineer looking to make a name for himself to redesign the "hole".
