I'm more a Stihl guy but the 372xpw (75cc) is one of my favorite saws. What a great all around saw.

It is a good one👍

Love my 562 it’s definitely my favorite, and a mean little saw. I like my 572 also, but I always seem to grab the 562.

Dan Your KZbin videos are the best I've seen. Keep them coming! I have an older 562 and a new one. They flat get it done. The older ones had an issue with hot starts, but I have not seen that on the new one. Great saws!

I'm glad you like the videos. I agree... the 562 really gets some work done. It's surprising that a small saw can do so much... it's just a well designed and well built saw.

Thats pretty impressive for a 60 cc class saw

Yes.. I certainly am impressed by this saw.

Wood you of picked the same combo on an oak the same sized cut? Thanks for all the great hang out time.
@norcaltimberfaller19432 жыл бұрын
I would pick the bigger saw(572) in hard wood. It does have more low end and will do better in harder wood. But in softer wood there is not much difference

Hey Dan. How did you go about getting work in such rural areas? I would love to do some hard labor in the mountains like this. But have no entry into the trade. Some pointers on how you did it would be awesome ! Love your videos

Thankyou. I am happy that you like the videos. As far as working in the timber industry... there are different ways to start. My dad was a timber faller so I grew up in it. That is the primary way to learn ... to work with an experienced faller. Another way is to start by setting chockers or as a landing chaser and eventually if the logging boss likes your work ethic ...then he might give you a shot at falling timber. Always best to start in small timber and slowly work up to bigger stuff. It takes about a year or two... depending on the person .. to get reasonably ok at it... it takes 5 or more years to start getting to more advanced and able to handle more complicated situations.

Love watching your channel! I'm by no means a timber faller, I own some property in Vermont and do some clearing. But watching your channel I feel like I bought the wrong saw. I did a ton of research and ended up with a Stihl 261. Hate to ask, but do you have any thoughts between husky and Stihl? I am happy with it but all you pros seem to run Huskys...
@norcaltimberfaller19432 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I think Stihl has some good saws. I used to run Stihl a long time ago. I switched over to Husqvarna about 10 or 12 years ago. The main reason is that Husky's are a smoother saw... less vibration ... easy on the operator. The 562 husky would be a great all around saw for working on property. Good power, but light and easy on the operator. Does really well in small to medium size timber.. and works well for cutting brush ... clearing.. etc.

Hey there! Great vid, great saw. Any issue with the oiler keeping up to a 32” bar?
@norcaltimberfaller19432 жыл бұрын
Thanks, no I have not noticed an issue with the oiler keeping up. So far it seems to be doing fine.

You plan to try a new 592?

I probably will at some point...

How do you like the 572? I like mine and the 562s. All mine are ported. Thanks
@norcaltimberfaller19432 жыл бұрын
I really like both saws as well. The 572 because it can pull a 36 inch bar if needed... the 562 because it is light and easy on the operator .. does really well in small to medium size timber. I run mine stock because my experience with hop ups has been they cause extra vibration. That's harder on the operator and when running saws day in day out I take that into account. It's different if it's running a saw here and there. Lots of guys run hop ups , but for me I just found they are harder on a person for day in day out cutting.

Dan I have a 570 x torq, do you think it would run a 32 inch bar? I have just been running the stock 24 inch but a 32 inchwould be a back saver for me since I cut a lot of firewood to sell.
@norcaltimberfaller19432 жыл бұрын
I am not so familiar with a 570 x torq. So I am not sure. Personally when cutting firewood I like to use a pretty big saw. If it's big rounds. A 395 makes short work of big logs and since it's just cutting rounds and not moving around a lot , it's not to much fatigue on the operator when the saw is constantly buried in the wood and cutting down.

Been contemplating getting a 32 for mine. Curious if it would lower life though over time
@norcaltimberfaller19432 жыл бұрын
I think it might lower the life over time. It is certainly working the saw harder to pull a 32. I have run a 28 a lot on the 562 , but I plan on seeing how this one holds up running a 32. I guess time will tell.

7 or 8 pin rim? The newr 562 saws are better then the first gen saws. She did not even limit out ,sweet sound all power and no top end bobble from the limiter
@norcaltimberfaller19432 жыл бұрын
I believe that's comes standard with a seven tooth sprocket. Yes , it seems that husky is getting this saw dialed in pretty well.

Chain specs? Raker height? Thanks.
@norcaltimberfaller19432 жыл бұрын
Chain is 3/8 full comp. raker height.. not sure... I usually take them down two swipes or more at a time. I run them a little bit under what would be considered very aggressive. That way the saw doesn't stall out when it is stumping.
