Good video. And yes I agree going from a 572xpg to my 592xp not much heavier. And yes stihl chain I also find the edge lasts a bit longer, however when hand filing I found the Oregon chain easier to hand file than a stihl chain but guess as first reason the steel on the stihl chain is bit harder.

It really didn’t cut any differently then with a 25” bar! Maybe a little less speed but it was still pleasing to use.

Have you tried the husky x cut c83. I’m really enjoying it they have finally produced a chain comparable to the stihl chain. Also is your bar like a sugi or tsumura. I was told in the states sugi is making that bar and overseas tsumura is. All my new lights look just like the sugi cut outs.

I think it’s the same as sugi, yes I’ve tried the husky xcr c83. for whatever reason I can’t make them cut as good as when they are new. Stihl and Oregon I can really put a good edge on it and I’m satisfied how they hold up and keep an edge. X cut is great out of the box I just haven’t mastered how to file them. Oregon is cheaper option on Amazon and stihl chains I get at a really good price ( dealer I work for sells stihl products..)

@@765Guys I agree with that, I think it’s somewhat of a square grind stock. When I sharpen them I’ve been doing the 10 degree down angle and it seems a little better vs none. However I can’t get them to the same as stock either, cut wise but they do last a long time before needing sharpened again. Oregon really like the ten degree btw, if you have a bench grinder.

@@765Guys I have a makita 6421 that I sent out to get ported with the big 54mm top end, I'm wondering if it'll be able to pull a 36" bar but those x-tough light bars are expensive! I'm wondering if I can find a light bar that is cheaper from any of the other bar manufacturers.

The saw looks awesome, Love Husky stuff! Does the saw feel overly heavy or no? I have a 395xp that is great! The 592xp could be a game changer if it’s lighter!
@765Guys
@765Guys Жыл бұрын
No it does not feel overly heavy, if I go from my 550xp to my 592xp it’s very noticeable. But 572xp to 592xp it’s not really much difference

@@765Guys I usually use Oregon as well. My dealer sells them cheap and I think I agree that they sharpen differently than the husky chains.

In my opinion Oregon is the softest chain, good to get a good edge and file how you prefer, but doesn’t hold an edge as long as stihl. Stihl is really hardened steel and holds an edge better but can be difficult to sharpen and get a good edge on it, but once you do it cuts great. Not sure if you have saws that take a .325 chain but I’ve found the “ dunhill “ brand from Amazon are cheap and hold up really well for the price. Kind of softer as well but you can really file a good edge on it. For 10$ for an 18” 72 drive link chain I think it’s a good deal.

I’ve got several x cuts, they work but I’m not good at putting a edge on the 3/8s x cut. I’ve had a lot better luck with oregons and stihl chains. X cut is great when new though!
