Husqvarna 61 1981

What a beauty....I have a black top 61...a 93 I think. Ignition is very different......coil is in front of the flywheel.

I got lucky as hell last year and came across a Husqvarna 61 300th anniversary addition for $ 60:bucks! The little gal I bought it from said it was her dad's saw and that he had passed away a couple of months ago and she didn't know if that was too much money for the saw? I said she was asking a fair amount for it but didn't realize it was a rare one! I also have a Husqvarna 266xp from Slavaina Yugoslavia that was produced by a scooter manufacturer Tomos. And after replacing the carburetor that came stock with the saw which was a 224, I put a 255 off of a 272 K demo saw and drilled a few holes in the exaust pipe ( which is what I would recommend to do with your 61 and it won't have that slight bog any longer ) it lit a fire under its ass and is a real pleasure to dip it into a big Douglas fir log and flat out makes the chips fly! 😉

They were as.durable as they get ,good power in pulp wood, could use it cutting saw logs if had be, allaround best saw onthemarket in the day, 5 stars 🌟

What's the other blue coil like part ? This one near the oil tank. 😅

There are two parts to the actual spark generation on these earlier saws plus the flywheel,, the larger blue device next to the flywheel is called the ignition module while the smaller blue device is called the ignition coil, per the description on the Parts Tree catalog of replacement parts.
