Thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you!!!!! I bought my Husqvarna ST 230P about two to two and a half years ago and today, September 23, 2023, your site is still one of the BEST, few places where I can get any kind of usable information on how to get into my machine. This video is actually helping me with separating the two stages to be able to fix my gearbox. Again. thank you!

Just purchased a husky st224P. Expensive but needed to make fast decision. Heard good and bad about the Husky. As a old man on pension I hope for no troubles. Disappointed in the reverse gear, very very slow. Also I was used to using machines with auger on left hand and drive on right. Will take some getting used to. Thanks for the lesson on the belts.

Reverse in many snow blowers is slow, If it makes you feel better. Sure your snow blower will get the job done. Thanks for watching

One of my issues I am going to attempt with my st224 is to correct the auger belt as it seems to have started bogging the engine when engaged while driving which it just started. Would you think its the auger belt?
@NoFate2475 жыл бұрын
It might be, but not likely. For the cost of replacing the auger belt you might as well so it to elimate it as an issue. When is the last time you changed the spark plug. Is the gas old?
@northernlife2315 жыл бұрын
@@NoFate247 Yes fresh gas, but yet to replace spark plug, change oil every season yes, yet its only 3 years old. last time i used it it had some ice in bottom of auger and when engaged of course it bogged down and stalled....I did not release in time and smelt belt and saw some filings of it.....funny thing is I used it for a good hour after working perfect. Yesterday starts up solid, but when auger is engaged, she looses a lot of engine power to the point it wants to stall if to much snow is being put threw. I am going to post a video here shortly and you can see for yourself.
@northernlife2315 жыл бұрын
@@NoFate247 Well I will attempt the spark plug first.....I can see the belt guard has worn the auger belt good but still spins as I took the cover off
@NoFate2475 жыл бұрын
Northern Life sorry for the delay getting back to you. Didn't get the notice for some reason. You are probably best changing the auger belt. It's not expensive and quicker to change than the darn drive belt. Could the existing belt need to be realigned?

I have this same snowblower, bought it second hand, and mine is throwing the drive belt twice since I got it a few days ago... I can see the large pulley in the lower portion is almost free floating, is this normal? or is this my problem?

This definitely doesn't seem normal

Does this fix the belt shredding issue with this unit? A local shop is selling the rebadged Jonsered model for a good price and I'm wondering if it's worth buying.
@NoFate2473 жыл бұрын
My belt never shredded. This belt is going on 3 years now (the one replaced in the video). If you are willing to change the plugs, oil, and belts if need be then def. buy it on the cheap. Let me know your decision, always curious

@@NoFate247 Good to hear. I've read quite a few comments from people saying their auger belt shredded within hours or days after buying their snow blower.

I have the ST224P. Maybe my blower has COVID-19?? It’s 5 years old....I’d guess less than 30 hours total on the machine. I changed the auger belt last year..It worked well right up to the end of the season in 2019. Went to use it this morning...engine sounds fine, runs smooth, auger turns....but I get no power to the wheels. I’ll take it apart tomorrow....but I’m open to any suggestions. Good video, amigo!
@NoFate2473 жыл бұрын
No power at the wheels, either the belts aren't engaging correctly or most likely the wheel that turns the wheels must not be engaging.

I have the same blower. My auger belt officially worn out after 8 years of use. However the belt numbers worn out and the belt itself is stretched. I tried 3 times at a hardware store to find a match, still have yet to find the right size. It pops off every 5 mins and I have to put it back on during my blowing. Big pain. Do you happen to know the parts number to the auger belt? Not much help on internet. Thanks!

When i engage the auger, it makes a rough sound, like its squeeling or in pain... any idea what that can be, i only used it 4x, its about 5 years old, and never changed the belts
@NoFate247 Жыл бұрын
I would start with lubricant and then do the belts
@ukrandriy89 Жыл бұрын
I should've mentioned that the painful noise is only to engage the auger, it spins perfect, no noise at all once it's going, just the initial engagement. What should I oil?
@NoFate247 Жыл бұрын
Lubricate the auger but not with oil.@@ukrandriy89
@newfie-dean58037 ай бұрын
I have the same sound and it exists even after putting on a new auger belt. What I have noticed is that if am using drive before engaging the auger I can make that noise stop but if it is stationary then it will make the sound when I engage the auger. However, I noticed that if I engage the auger slow and gently I can stop the noise.

Actually it's one of the cables from the handle. If the engagement wheel has become misaligned it will hit the friction plate past the center and that's definitely reverse. I am assuming this only happens in lower gears. Look for video titled "Snowblower Has No First Speed - Fixed With Easy Adjustment." on youtube

Does Husqvarna not have a dam manual on how to fix these bloody things because I am about to start trouble shooting some reasons why it seems to have less power after I fixed the sprocket issue of these dumbasses choosing to have a 2 pc pressure fitted drive sprocket... ya if you have not looked under in the bottom of the 2018 and 2019 models we have a special kind of stupid. I fixed mine with Retaining compound loctite 620 no this is not paid just got the tip from another guy who had the same issue of it kept falling off the fitting and well then it does not drive anymore. thanks for the video and keep filming =)

You can download a manual and there are some basic trouble shooting tips, but the emphasis is on basic.
