Husqvarna ST 224 Snowblower

Have had this machine since 2017. Great engine and build quality. Except for cable flaws. My drive gear cable, chute deflector cable , and chute rotating cable have all broken one time. I believe husqvarna redesigned the control unit though since.

I have seen a different version of this 24" blower with power steering, it has a lever under the handle bar on each side for turning left and right, I thought it could be a nice feature to have . loved the video, tanks for taking the time to make it.

This is a great machine. Have had mine a few years now and blasted a good amount of snow with it

I still enjoy it, once there is more than 6” it works hard but always cleans up nice, starts crazy good in the cold as well 👍🏼

I also want to try the impeller mod I’ve seen guys do to throw snow further! This thing throws snow good already for being a littler guy I suppose but would like to see what it could do with that!

Question, when my machine is off. Moving it forward and backward seems like the wheels are squeaking. Is this normal? Have you experienced this?

@@number36420 I can’t say I have, I’ll take a look at my machine tomorrow at give you a comment back on what I think may be causing that! I’m guessing it’s just probably some oil or grease that could be placed on the axel but I’ll look! I need to do some maintenance anyhow 👍🏼

@@9.16TreeService does your machine make a "barking" sound when you engage the auger? I just bought the exact same machine and I absolutely love love love it but I wasn't sure if the "barking" sound was normal?

-- Just bought one. Not here yet. Is running that at 6 speed a good idea? I've heard about that putting some stress on the drive and there is a plastic component that bends and fails bringing it up beyond setting 4. Thanks for the video, thumbs up. Just a little curious about your thoughts with the machine.

Thanks 👍🏼 it’s my third or fourth winter with it, I run it on 6th all the time because you can feather the drive to suit how fast you want to go. I have questioned if it’s bad for the machine for sure but haven’t had any issues yet 🤷🏻‍♂️ it throws snow great for it’s size and it’s really maneuverable, hope you enjoy yours 👍🏼

Sorry for the super late reply, it said to do that in the Manuel haha or I think it said 10 pushes, it works good tho. I wouldn’t push it that many times if I didn’t read it!

3 pushes is all it needs.

Recommended to push it 10 times I believe and it starts better also, I know it seems weird but it works

​@@9.16TreeService that's interesting I have an 08 Husqvarna snowblower and my manual said 3 times. Most of the time it starts the first pull. Maybe the newer ones recommend 10 but just seem a bit to much

@@northernsawyer281 I agree but it starts first pull as well, this was a Briggs and Stratton but I know they’ve changed the engine in the thing a few times 👍🏼 only small piece of equipment I own where I prime it like that, doesn’t start good hot sometimes and it wants primed, almost seems like a fuel leak but haven’t found a thing, it’s just always been like that 🤷🏻‍♂️

I absolutely hate the no throttle design does anybody know the last year Husqvarna still used it, i have a lawnmower like that i didn,t realize tell after i bought it, not that big of a deal, pretty small motor not like a snowblower, what a waste of gas, the emissions people should have never allowed such a stupid change

Do not buy this cheap plastic console breaks & shift lever will only go I. Reverse after light use & 5 winters
