Great video. I was wondering why gas in the spark plug hole versus the use of starter fluid somewhere else?

The “somewhere else” is the hard part. There is no easy access to spraying gas or starting fluid into the throat of the carburetor. Yes it can be done but it’s not easy. Plus you get to look at the spark plug and change it out if needed. I also try and use gas verses starting fluid because starting fluid is not good for a gasoline engine and can be dangerous. Some go crazy using way too much starting fluid and if you’re not careful, it can go boom!

Yes, but just like you said, a small amount. I would suggest purchasing the metal squirt container. I am using oiler squirt can with Aspen4 or whatever gas you have as long as it is fresh.

Another well done video. Could the surging be fixed with fuel additives ? Or are you looking to clean/ rebuild the carburetor

Unfortunately, To correct the surging on the LCT engine would be remove the carburetor and clean/rebuild or replace the carburetor if needed.

Hi brad, Unrelated to this but a question. Have any suggestions on how to make a joystick more responsive. My craftsman stick (quiet technology) is difficult to press the trigger to swing left to right. It DOES work but it's not a smooth operation. Any idea what I can do? Thanks, and again another good video.

I my opinion a very poor design. I would suggest spraying silicone up into the trigger, then all around the chute area that turns. Make sure you press trigger before starting to move handle to release the internal mechanism.

That's what I've done, and it does help some. I thought maybe it needs to "break in" some and will hopefully loosen up. Wish I could change it for a manual crank, any thoughts? Thanks again Brad, your videos and replies really help out, be well John@@JohnsonsSmallEngines
