This was surprisingly excellent video! Dynamic, vivid and yet so elaborate presentation, coming from non native English speaker. Bravo!

I'm so tired of all these non KTM owners who brings this up all the time. This is not a common problem. And those who experienced problems were covered by KTM. Buy the bike of your dreams and stop reading those comments from keyboard warriors. 🙂

I hope that you will discuss the recurrent camshaft failures in the LC8c inside of the 790's and 890's and how buying this bike is probably not a very good idea because it has the same engine.

Can you elaborate on this issue? Haven’t heard about this and i was debating getting this bike. Thanks for posting for awareness.
@subzero-ku2wx6 ай бұрын
@@getwrx-d2423 Might want to Google it. There are a few working theories about why this is occurring but tons of owners have premature wear on the camshafts. Unclear if it's a oil pressure, oil passageways clogging, or, what seems to be the prevailing theory... Soft camshafts. Don't buy one.

I'd love to know more about this. Specifically why they'd use this engine on a new bike if this is a known issue.
@subzero-ku2wx6 ай бұрын
@@FunWithAJ Google it. It's everywhere. Likely soft camshafts. KTM refuses to acknowledge the problem, but it's clearly widespread.

This is my question. I want to see a Vitpilen 801, they haven’t even hinted at one yet. I worry they’re going to wait to see the Svart’s sales figures first. Hopefully by next year we’ll have one though.

Buyer Beware. I have owned a new Svartpilen 401 for almost two years now. I have spend the past six months waiting for a replacement for a defective radiator fan. My efforts to reach out to KTM, including corporate, did not help. Not even a response, explanation, apology, or effort to expedite the part. I have waited previously for a month for an oil filter to become available. I'm going on 10 months to a year waiting for other less critical parts. I was eagerly wanting to place an order for the new 801. Now I'll be afraid to take the bike more than 30 minutes from home when and if it's finally repaired. When I did research on the 401 none of the reviewers mentioned the reliability and parts availability problems. I wish I had been warned. I think this is a systemic problem at KTM that they have somehow kept relatively quiet and instead flooded social media with positive videos about new bikes.

I bought a Kawasaki Dominar 400 , same motor as the Svartpilen 401, and the KTM 390 Duke , runs as it should ; this motor is built in India , I believe by Baja . Parts are easily found, forget about manufacturer support. I’m inspired to buy similar power plant in my home Country. An American Expat.

@TommieTrumper-TFC12006 ай бұрын
Its not a case of upgrade its a case of is it interesting enough to swop your current marque, if you’re already riding 790 then no probably not worth upgrading, but if you’re riding an MT 09 then maybe a 990 might have made you think about trade in. I think with the 790 it’s just not tempting enough to bring in virgin customers…
