Hey Pete, this was just as good a video as any to say "Thank you"! I have been watching your videos for some time now, and you were the first person I saw that notches and then bore cuts a tree the way you do. Up until now I always cut the traditional face cuts and Humboldts and following up with the typical back cut. I have since started cutting my hardwoods as you do, utilizing the boring technique and then "triggering" the small back cut and this has worked GREAT so far! I admit that I was at first nervous about bore cutting as I was always taught not to put the tip of the bar against the wood because of kick back. Well, in watching your videos I could see that you were NOT sticking the tip into the wood, but "dragging" the tip in and this was a revelation for this 67 year old man. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?! One other thing I have noticed by cutting this way is that the bore cuts seem to hold the saw chips within the cut and therefore minimizes the tree sitting back onto the bar. Maybe it is my imagination, but it does seem to help in that regard. My only issue using this method is that there is little space for using wedges, but maybe this is my having to get use to this style of cutting. Any way, I have to say thanks once again.

I can honestly say I've never seen anybody flip off poison ivy but I agree with you😂

The problem lies in the fact that it flips you off right back lol. And get without even knowing we touched it lol. Sucky stuff

Still my favorite, cuts nice out of the box, that is rakers being the only adjustment I would make(for softwoods primarily). Nothing smoother in round ground/filed.

X Cut is my preference. RS chain is next. Both are very good out of the box. If Im bucking Ill take 3 swipes off the rakers. Cheers

Nice looking stump on that last white oak. Saw seems to be cutting good. In and out of that cab all day like you’ve been there before.

Pete. Wanted to let you know as a husky guy! They are on sale for next lil bit. Think it’s like 20% off. Just saw a 572 for 952 bucks. Maybe this is the time to pick a spare one up. Hope your having a kick ass weekend!

Looks like someone snuck some nice trees in there on you Pete. Sounds like you got the rakers shaved down cause it's chewing the wood up in big bits fast as your boring through the trunks

Great video! Love to watch your technique. Why did you cut the center out of the hinge of the poison ivy tree ( at 2:30)?
