Hustle & Flow Mtb Trail in the Snow | La Tierra Trails, Santa Fe NM | Beginner/Intermediate Trails

This is a video about a mountain bike ride in Santa Fe New Mexico, featuring my mom. They are all trails in the La Tierra trail system. We parked at the La Cuchara Trailhead. Our loop was about 6 miles and had an elevation gain of 400ft. This was filmed in mid December, so some of the trails were covered in snow, making it difficult to pedal through some sections. The main downhill flow trail, hustle & flow, was rideable and super fun and flowy (could have been maintained). The 7,000ft elevation, plus the cold temperatures make it super hard to breath up there so come in good shape lol. I went back this following summer and it was a lot easier to breath and the climb didn’t seem as long. Was it a fun experience? Hell yes. Will I do it again in the snow? Probably not. I’d recommend this trail in the late spring or early summer… or pretty much any other time of the year except winter. There were some fun features on the lower trails (trail 12) that were missed because of the snow cover. Despite the Christmasy weather, these trails are super rad and the climbs are definitely worth the descent!
