Hey Martin I have to add my two cents as I have viewed several of your videos and I can definitely relate to some of your challenges as you lurch into retirement. I am a former flatlander from Winnipeg and now reside in the lower mainland in Surrey BC. My first advice to you is forget entirely your past expertise in the Health and Safety world. That train has sailed and you need to move on. I don't know what your strengths are but food delivery always rates kinda low on the pay scale. I know it's easy but compensation is poor and erratic. Also you are competing with much younger people for the trips. As for me while I raised my family I was forced to do my own household and mechanical repairs and learned a number of skills along the way. Those skills allowed me to do well paying handyman jobs after I retired and right now I work for an animal hospital as a part time maintenance person for pretty decent money. So my message is: try to find something that plays to your strengths. You're obviously a people person so why not go in that direction? Just my thoughts, good luck on your journey.

Ha ha thank you Melissa. The only thing that startled me was the stun grenade blast 💥 near my window. I wasn’t expecting that. I didn’t show the first 10 seconds of the video as I video recorded it vertically but it was the most dramatic as the police were yelling at the suspect and threatening to sh**t. All ended well though 😃🙏

Hi Martin just wondering if you applied at Costco? I heard the pay is decent. I think Instacart would be too labour intensive. I order over $100 in groceries. I know the shopper hates to get my orders...lol...but I do tip well. Keep up the great work. Time will fly by and you will be truly retired before you know it. PS: That "take down" was pretty scary to me!! Stay safe🤗
@themartinblairprojectКүн бұрын
@@hazell1593 Good morning Hazell. Yes actually I applied for 4 positions at Costco but no response. Ya I’m thinking Instacart would be a lot of labour intensive work for little pay compared to delivery driving. Yes that police takedown was exciting. It was not on the news. I should have sent in my video 😆

If you think if your drivers seat as your second office chair, the waiting for orders doesn’t seem like a waste of time but rather productive time to think if topics for content creation. And driving and chatting or just driving ans videoing the route and the viewers (who do not have the ability to travel) having the opportunity to see your town in essence gives double earning to the time!

@themartinblairprojectКүн бұрын
Everything is different but Uber holdings pay a basic fare and the customer usually tips. Most of my orders pay between $6-$8 for 6-10 km
