I started watching you for your Paletteful Packs reviews. But I try to watch all of your content because I just love your art and your attitude. Chronic illness forces me to measure my time carefully and take many breaks. I’m slowly learning to be ok with it instead of resentful and angry. Love your little fish and his underwater mushroom friends!

Hullo Alice, I hope you are able to continue with this healthy attitude! One thing that I like to do is paint rocks and leave them around my town just to brighten up someone’s day. It pays nothing for my wallet, but my soul is enriched! I am much older and I had to do many jobs to make rent! I did everything from pet portraits to little league baseball photos! The internet has given artists so many wonderful ways to earn, yet so many more ways to burn out faster! Thank you for sharing this lovely way of creating an art journey for a well balanced life! Please take care and be well!

This was so helpful and I love the idea of the healthy hustle! I schedule my day in time blocks. I have a block in the middle of my day that is dedicated to a recharging activity or relaxing.

I love this! I struggle so much with taking breaks. I know they are important and needed, but in the back of kind, I feel guilty because I feel I should be working. 🥴

Yessss I remember we talked about this in your video premiere chat (with the gorgeous frame painting). Hustle culture needs to be replaced with PACING culture. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I unfortunately was forced out of hustle culture by chronic illness that kicked me on my butt. I had been hustling for years in various ways (my own business, weightlifting 6 days a week and not much sleep) until I got mono and never recovered. (I have a post viral illness that is a LOT like long covid) I could barely move let alone work out or run my business so I had to let both go. After 2 years of illness I took up art again after like 10 years of not doing any painting because I could do it from bed. I'm not able to sit up a few hours a week to paint if I REALLY take it easy before and after. If I don't I literally can relapse and become bedbound for weeks. This illness really taught me how to C H I L L and to never hustle again. So absolutely heed that warning and take this advice! Breaks, self-care and pacing are SO essential! Adore your vid as usual Alice! ❤️❤️❤️
