One thing is for sure, it is very expensive, more often than not you won't be in a comfortable position to focus on damage, as most of times you ended up being a frontline for your team and resistance items will definitely be cheaper and help you spike faster

Big note for freezes is that you shouldn’t freeze more than 4 ranged minions, especially in bot. It pushes too hard and results in the freeze breaking on its own too quickly

on a more serious note: I think higher AP items like shadowflame and deathcap are legit and the hyperfocus on spell effect items is holding back a lot of damage output for many swain players. been trying this build in soloQ with gathering storm and midgame feels excellent to play, especially if you get a lead early. on a less serious note: HIMSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM LOVE U BRO

Feel like there are many good items on Swain and some you cant miss unless you wanna just fit yourself in some straight Build.Think theres a build that makes him slightly Tanky,keep his drainmage badge and be bursty? Liandry,Rylai,Rabadon,Zhonya/Banshee,Shoes,SVisage(or some of the newer items) or Voidstaff when needed.Mana probably gonna lack hard with these tho. Even looking at the items i listed hed feel bit squishy unless really ahead. Edit: i forgot about malignance Lul bet its a pretty core item aye?

All of Swain's abilities catch in area so AP ratios can be multiplied by 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x is a such damage when you are in a TF.
