I thought Hassan came across as cruelly childish during that Ethan talk. He picked a side (fine nbd), but it seemed like the point of what he was doing was solely to navigate that conversation without granting anything against that position. Then, when he was literally being begged to drop the act and show a dash of empathy he seemed like he was enjoying the power dynamic of that moment, not engaging at all with ethan. The whole thing was sad to watch.
@aarondavis8943

Ethan wasn't really negotiating for concessions. He'd always opposed Israel's policy on Gaza, he's always opposed the IDF and the settlements in the West Bank and he's always supported Palestine's right to autonomy and its own state. His "crime" in the eyes of his former friends is to oppose Hamas and to be horrified by their slaughter of civilians. In other words, his natural human empathy is his "crime".
@jogiff
@jogiff 8 ай бұрын
Yeah, Ethan was taking a somewhat hardline anti-Israel position, accepting that “settlers” (presumably actual settlers, not Israeli citizens who live near the border) were legitimate military targets, but just opposed the murder of babies. Hasan couldn’t meet him there.

*I disagree* For Jews to flee as refugees, after being invaded, and then returning as refugees, when they are also being attacked everywhere else, is understandable* If a population of refugees, arrive in your land, immediately attacking them over and over again, is not understandable. *Those refugees then creating a state in self defence is understandable* To then keep attacking them is not understandable. *For Israel to keep hilltop land that they gained, when that land was used to launch these unprovoked attacks against them is understandable* For Israel to give back land, for Palestinians to live in peace, and then for Palestine to then immediately use that land to attack israel is not understandable. *To put blockades on a region who keep attacking you, is understandable. (Especially considering what they have continuously declared their ultimate goal is for the last 1400 years)* Stopping the blockades, but when the attacks increase, you put the blockades back in place again, is understandable. *Having blockades against you stop, and then attacking them even more often is not understandable* Putting military equipment under hospitals is not understandable. *Bombing those buildings that they are storing weapons in to attack you, after giving warnings is understandable* Stopping your own civilians leaving said buildings with roadblocks is not understandable. Stopping the bombings of said buildings, but when the attacks increase again,you start bombing the buildings again, is understandable *It is understandable in the sense, that this has been an extremist region for 1400 years, so this is why they behave this way, and why they are furious when they keep losing over and over again, when they attack the Jewish people. But it's not understandable in the sense,that any rational person would feel or behave the same way* Rational Palestinians think, well we keep attacking them, since we first invaded, and since they returned as refugees, and they keep defending themselves, so we are now in this horrible situation, and are being ruled by these extremists. And they thank Israel for being so kind to them and showing such great restraint and patience. Replace Palestine with USA, and Jewish people with Native Americans, and everyone would agree that Israel is behaving appropriately, and Palestine isn't. *Imagine if after Europeans invaded North America, natives fled to, say Africa, where they were attacked too, so later returned to North America as refugees, and the USA immediately attacked them* So they created a state in self defence, kept getting attacked, gained hilltop land, when pushing the USA back, and kept that land that the USA was using to launch attacks against them. Kept getting attacked, so they put blockades on the USA. Gave the USA back land as good will gesture, and the USA immediately uses said land to attack them, so the Natives took it back. Stopped the blockades, and the attacks increased,so they put the blockades back in place, Stopped bombing the hospitals etc, where the USA was holding military equipment, and the attacks increased, so they started bombing the hospitals again. *The Natives behaviour would be understandable, the USA's would not be understandable*

Rare to hear someone question their own moral courage. Self awareness at it's height is honesty and is truly a virtue. We all are having to sort out moral issues now more than ever. @@jbark678 I thought about this hard, but honestly I strongly disagree. The left poses the greatest threat to us right now from what I've seen, but I'm open to being persuaded back. I grew up seeing Republicans as the bad guys, but this is worse than anything they've ever done. At no time in my life has half the republican party supported jihadist terrorism. They can't hide their glee at this point, and I tried to ignore it, but it's painfully obvious at this point. We've always said it was a small minority, but that was a pretty lie. The right has a moral base that for so long we've disagreed with because it didn't include certain marginalized groups. The current left is more morally bankrupt than the Jim Crow whites. They see no difference between Israel and HAMAS. Look in their eyes glaze over when you talk about the innocent people who got their throats slit at a music festival, but they will openly cheer that same slaughter at rallies where they are around like-minded idiots. That kind of stupidity and moral vacuum will be the end of America if we accept it.

The question I can’t get an answer to from anyone taking the Pro-Palestinian position is: if your family was 20 miles from Hamas, how would you want your government to act? It’s easy to take a strong Pro-Palestinian position when you have 0 skin in the game. If you somehow manage to keep the conversation going, the follow up is if your family lived in Gaza, what would you want Hamas to do? It’s hard to maintain the Pro-Hamas position if you have skin in the game.

PKA seemed like a pretty boring experience for destiny last time he went on. I might be bias'd though, cause I didn't really get what was being talked about.

PKA is Woody being 80 IQ boomer with an ego, Kyle being overly edgy and unfunny and the third guy who seems like the autism wrangler to keep the other two egotistical morons in line.

It meets every textbook definition of a genocide. There is also a consensus with Genocide historians that it is a genocide. 8000 people to this date dead in Gaza, hundreds dead in the West Bank.
