It would be interesting to see what the Empire does with Taris after they conquer it... again. Balmorra we know joins the Republic and had a Star Fortress over it, but I think if anything, the Sith would build a Sith Academy on Taris possibly dedicated to Malak. They don't want the city on it to be rebuilt but they would likely have a research outpost and possibly Reclamation Service base there. The swamps and wildlife would definitely make a good place to train prospective Sith.

Sorry if my englisvh is not great, i'm french. I tought of that too and i hyped myself with this idea x) But i think that all the models in the game are programmed with one specific colour to match the light of the planet (for exemple the buildings of Coruscant are in this orange-white-pink shade to match the sunrise, but if we put the sky at night, they'll still be on this shade, which does not go well with the dark). Sorry if my text is confusing, i'll try to expess myself better. And i'll be very happy too to see some unoque day-and-night cycle of each planet (even if i think Dromund Kaas would not change at zll x))

That would be a Herculean effort with how SWTOR's environments and lighting system are set up, and I don't see it ever happening. They'd have to remake huge chunks of the game from scratch, probably down to the engine's code itself.

Not gonna lie, old Hutta was much better, I like that you guys are going back & making quality of life improvements but this one just isn't it, old Hutta's glowing skies, toxic hazes & yellow swamps genuinely made the planet look & feel like a truly disgusting polluted mess, which makes sense considering the Hutts utter disregard for the environment, it's a big part of what makes them ruin everything they touch. But new Hutta just looks like a dark, miserable swamp. Maybe you're going for the Clone Wars look? Though in my opinion BioWare made a much more logical & believable depiction of the adopted Hutt homeworld.

I've really enjoyed what you folks did with the planets you've touched up so far. As a game designer myself I could really appreciate the balance between increased fps due to less distant visibility while at the same time accurately creating how the lighting etc would look with so much smog etc. Very good, will as many said in a strange way miss the old but love the new. KEEP up the hard work!

Your hutta modernization had 1 unintended consequence the Cantina texture overhaul also effects the Rishi and Tatooine Cantinas which isn't bad but the textures on the stairs going down to the basements of those Cantinas are messed up

This looks great! You should do the same with Tython so it finally has the violet fog like in the concept art. Super helpful to distinguish it from other similar looking planets.

I don't know how to feel about this. On one hand, new Hutta increases the feel of a drab, polluted planet. But old Hutta had a unique style that made it feel like the old west. Similar to past updates, I don't think this was the best use of development time and resources.

I actually really like this - I always thought it was weird how yellow Hutta was when it's meant to be, like, a swamp. New version looks way more accurate and in line with what I had in my head even though I will probably miss the old one.

i miss the old hutta, they shouldve just made the new zone on Hutta - the Minboosa district with the new look and keep the old Hutta the same ->its not like whole planet has to look exactly the same. Minboosa looks good because it was made from scratch, but changing old Hutta was bad choice.

Been playing for eight years and this is honestly pathetic, why in god's name would you change the planet many of us played our first steps in by adding smog, ruining the atmosphere, making it dull and grey, making all the trees into bland trees like I see in my backyard... genuinely angry and sad at this, rather than put time into something new and fun, they do this shit. It's the re-worked Dark Side of the Moon album all over again

Personally, I like the original better. It feels like a copy of the Zakuul swamp now. There's too much fog now, and the atmosphere color is no longer unique. It looks whitewashed. As a year one player, if this is what's to come for the original content, combined with the lack of quality new content, it might be time to finally say goodbye to this game. A shame considering how good the original storie telling is. I had high hopes for Broadsword but I think the next major update will be judgement day

It really looks fantastic. Like others, I was initially afraid that the planet would lose its identity, which of course played an essential role in the 6 original films under George Lucas and was implemented excellently in SWTOR. The swampy fog, through which dazzling light wafts, would not have been enough - as beautiful as it looks. But that sun! It looks spectacular. A thousand times better than the dull yellow of the sky before.

game is so old and still has incredible potential cause of its good reputation and great story telling and writing of the main and other stories. the player clases have great system and are logical. Its a great game even in 2024 god damn. who cares graphics are not the main focus... you dont need that. you are fan of star wars old republic cause of writing and stories and you being able to roleplay it. Love the game

Thieves skulking in the misty corners ready to ambush off worlders and a few local bumpkins for some creds or being a slave left to work hellish hours in a waste producing factory gives Star Wars that less cartoony Disney vibe. Besides, everyone knows all the color is on Nal Hutta’s celestial moon.
