also you can skip olmec by using 5 bombs to tunnel down, just make sure each one goes right in between two tiles, he needs a 4 tile wide berth, to bait him into your hole you need to go on the very edge of the hole so your character is spinning around. Hope this helps, good luck on beating olmec and getting the true ending! also, at 26:20, your shotgun's kickback knocked you into the frog, you didn't shoot yourself, pellets do 4 damage. you can also use the shotgun to jump three tiles up by shooting and jumping at the same time!

Fair or good game design be damned, I love spelunky, every time I die in a new bullshit way I laugh my ass off at how strange it was or how extremely unlucky I got. Was playing 2 the other day and got knocked down a big pit, my hired hand landed next to me, detonating an explosive and sending us both directly into lava and it was the funniest shit

Watching Hutts not use ropes for rope things, run himself out of bombs constantly, and then not use the shotgun jump to get out of a tiny hole made me die :D

Seriously Hutts, the intro even says "I kept dying, but dying lost all meaning here. So I keep going until I reach the ultimate treasure" So yes, it is fair and good game design, because the game literally tells you to keep going and learning from past failures. And your journey is proof, you got so much better at the game in this short time.
