To be honest, I started watching your channel when you bought this boat, And a was a bit skeptical how you were going to manage it to be honest…. But now with awsome help from Rolf that has not just helped you he has also teach you how to do it, So in the future if you buy a similar project you will be able to do it yourself with some guidance. Also please spare 10min to let Rolf introduce him self and his history….. Would love to hear it. And keep up the great work 💪💪👍👍 Cheers from Sweden 🍻

The hull keel areas were very light anyway for a boat that might have to dry out on a tidal beach or mud flat . So best beef it up now and spread future loads wider over the hull mouldings.

@Kimosabe46672 күн бұрын
Informative, and an interesting and laborious process! …also a messy, back braking work for the odd positions you guys have to be in! What’s the plan for examining the areas under the keel supports (wood timbers and metal stands with plywood), and repairing as and if needed? Same question for painting gel coat and anti-fouling paint on those areas? Have you had the thoughts that you’ve “bitten off more than you can chew” along the way with this boat and with the many, extensive repairs? …or perhaps a better question, how many times have you had that thought! I’d imagine you have and thought it many, many times! I would have!!! Keep up the good work and one day you and Rolf’s hard work will pay off!

Will you take crew onboard once you're back in the water, like Parlay Revival does?

Don’t see you guys using peel ply , I’m assuming you wash off the amine blush that is created on surface of the west system epoxy before sanding???
@michaelhaardt59882 күн бұрын
The thickened epoxy does not only smooth the surface and create a fillet to prevent voids and strong angles, it also enhances the adhesion to the surface. I believe even the West Systems application notes say so. Did you check the lower edge of the keels? Hard to imagine they did not develop cracks when hitting the ground. Can this cat be beached?

Out of curiosity, how long has the fiberglass work for the outside taken? I know you have production / editing on top of the work and release schedules. Is this a couple of weeks or months? You guys have been working very hard it looks like.
@howieroche74922 күн бұрын
Please consider wearing a mask when cutting the fiberglass as the fibers are released into the air while you cut. You need only to have the right light when cutting fiberglass in order to see all off the particles floating in the air. These small particles are being sucked in while you breathe. Take caution.
