I wish I'd known that was a thing or I would have gone! I've had the khuushuur from that Mongolian restaurant on Wilshire and they were delicious but a bit skimpy on the filling.

@@ericmabley2120yeah honestly from the videos I’ve seen most places in Mongolia itself are pretty skimpy with the meat. It’s usually the homemade ones that have a good amount of filling

Apparently Mongolia is one of the few countries without a Mcdonald's in the world. When a someone tried to apply to open a branch in Ulaanbaatar, McD immediately denied the request by citing their research into Mongolia which basically said that they cannot make money by selling burgers when Khuushuur exists in every corner of the city.

Actually our ancestors didn’t eat meat during summertime and their main food was dairy products. As they called it was time “to give rest to stomach”. Only exceptions were elderly or sick people, pregnant women.
